Wow...I remember telling myself that I was going to quit in 1965 when a pack of cigs went from $.17 to $.23!!!! After 40 years+ I discovered vaping NET as an alternate not because of the cost so much as it was just time to quit smoking. But I loved tobacco and did not want to give it up. Check out the natural tobacco extracts if you love tobacco. They worked for me very well - in fact, the tobacco flavor is better without the smoke if you can find a good NET supplier.
Hi BoilerGuy! I am not sure where you are from but our prices here are crazy. What a great suggestion with the natural tobacco extracts! I will try anything not go back to full time smoking. Thanks so much,
Catherine

Hi felinfan. I have previously had a look around the forum you mentioned but the pop-up ads etc drive me crazy! I gave up. I am not too sure how much we can say about it on this forum and I don't want to get in to trouble! Thanks for the heads up though :)

Welcome Possum64. I am new around here also - I joined when I began vaping back in August. This is a great community - knowledgeable and supportive. I smoked 25-30 cigs a day for over forty years. I had 7 yesterday. Not had more than 9 for a few weeks. So, I am dual using. I have learned not to pressure myself about the ones I smoke, and to be grateful about the ones I didn't smoke.

Good luck!

Eh, @Possum64 , there's an upgrade happening, it's making things wonky from time to time. You could probably peruse again, without the pop-ups, most likely. :) I think Oliver, who owns the site, does stuff early in the day when most of us are asleep, but not all, LOL. I was having some issues this "morning" nothing major, but they stopped. Anything weird you encounter is likely to be a transitory product of that.

Also, I wanted to add... I had a terrible time with those last few cigs. I really did. I ended up deciding to try WTA juice, which is e-juice made with tobacco that actually has some tobacco alkaloids in it (regular NET tobacco has tobacco flavor, but tends not to have the alkaloids). Because I was detoxing so hard, I decided I would use them transiently, and I started out with a tiny squirt of them when I refilled my tank. I don't use them consistently any more, but I do have a tank with some in them that I carry in case I have Stressful Situations afoot, like going to an evening concert for the first time, vaping (the first time I did that, I fell off the vaping wagon-- hard-- the first concert I went to, I mean, 2nd was fine, LOL).

But, if I'm going to be doing something stressful, I find them useful, and they were easy to taper off of (unlike smoking) and I can still use them on occasion and have no desire to continue using them. They don't work for everyone, but you can get them from either Aroma Ejuice or Mother's Milk, they are pricy is the only thing, but I did find they reduced my desire to chew through steel by about 3 p.m. every day. They don't work for everyone, and I would DEFINITELY try upping your nic first and seeing how you do, but depending on how it goes, that may be something worth trying. I didn't want to use them forever, and I'm glad I don't (mainly for cost, I was not supremely worried about my health as no combustion is the main thing that e-cigs offer healthwise, and that is true for WTA liquid as well) but I was really happy to have them when I needed them, and I usually suggest them (if dual users have tried every other option and still finding it hard/impossible).

They're certainly not *required* and I was a pretty heavy duty smoker and had a LOT of detoxing to do, and it was far easier to taper my WTA use than my cigarettes, generally. It's just a thought, at this point but I thought I'd mention it. I bought the wholesale, unflavored, and they have the faintest HINT of tobacco flavor that just blends away for the most part once you add other flavors. NET juice made me think of it, so hey, I'm posting it.

If you wind up wanting to try some, I could probably send some, like a small amount 3 or 4 mls so you could try them, before attempting to purchase any, given it's Oz and all.... Just give me a heads up if you are ever interested, but I'd say with upping your nic, you may not need them at all.... but if you ever feel like you do, shoot me a PM. I'm fond of Oz (my family is from there and I lived in Sydney in middle school) always happy to help a fellow Oz (though I don't sound like one anymore, been here too long, LOL).

Keep on hanging in there, though. :) You may do just fabulously on 18 nic and that may be the final push you need....

Hello tgs 3. Your story sounds oh so familiar! I had a bit of a yuck day at work today and when I got home, slammed down 4 cigs in a row! I don't carry cigs with me anywhere anymore and literally didn't get a chance to sneak off for a quick vape. One of those days I guess...thank God they do not happen too often!
Back on the vaping now though, and have locked the cigs in my car...for the while anyway !

Hi Possum. Have you signed up to the Aussievapersforum?
AussieVapers | The original Australian e-cigarette community
Or maybe you've been posting there for a while and I haven't seen you.
It's a good local resource for Australian vapers.

Hey Anna and Letitia! Felinefan was talking about the AussieVapers (forum). Is this one also run by Oliver...or is it something completely different? I understand THIS forum is having an upgrade, but the AussieVapers is almost impossible for me to use. Literally every time I try to do something I "win a phone or a million dollars" or some such rubbish! It really does my head in. Anyhoo, I like it here, even if I am a foreigner!

Thanks once again for your helpful advice. And you are such a treasure to offer me some trial WTA! I am going to give the 18mg a go first, and if I am still struggling, then may look at buying some of the WTA. (I will keep that up my sleeve as my secret weapon):thumb:

This is where most people buy WTA e juice.

Whole Tobacco Alkaloid WTA Eliquid Ejuice

They don't seem to ship internationally, but as Anna pointed out, I'm sure many people would be willing to help get you some if there is nothing similar in Australia.

Yes, indeed, stress is not your friend when trying to reduce smoking. In my case, I know that smoking is not going to relieve the stress one iota - and yet the desire for a cigarette is intense. I now see that it is purely psychological. I am getting more than enough nicotine.

Glad the WTA stuff was useful, and yes, Catherine, if you end up wanting to try it (though I think increased nic is a good step forward to try first, definitely) I'd be happy to help you get some larger amount to you at some point. My homegrown packages tend to be roundly ignored by customs-- They're definitely clearly not something of "value". My Christmas presents tended to look similarly low key, but they often had fun stuff inside! Tg3, glad you are thinking of trying the WTA, you may be pleasantly surprised, and it's a great transition e-liquid for getting rid of those last few pesky cigarettes. Mother's milk is another site, I bought some e-juice from there to have on hand, but I haven't tried it less. It was less expensive than Aroma E-juice, though I can't really speak to how it is quality wise.... But, they may ship internationally, I am not sure.

Good luck with that 18 mg, Catherine! I think you may find it makes a big difference!

Anna
