Found this looking for #500 mesh.

Micronic Filtration - Twill Dutch Weave Filter Cloth

Just wondering if anyone has seen or tried it. No "about us" page so I don't know where they are located but the phone number is a Washington state number. I would think the wicking capability of this would be far superior to #400 or #500 mesh. Only thing I'm not sure about is the weave but I don't think the weave would negatively effect the wicking. Any thoughts, or experience with this?

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Found this:

Screen Technology Group
33008 Northeast Washougal River Road Washougal, WA 98671 United States‎

Not much more info on them, but for that mesh, it is less screen like than you would expect. Twill and Dutch weave together makes for lots of weft wires compared to warp wires and they are all bunched together, and make for a thicker mesh. Not sure how this affects wicking, but it may well be harder to roll, like a felt rather than silk.

Someone got a sample of 200x1400 from the mesh company, and the company thought it might be the next big thing. I dunno.

200x1400 seems like it wouldn't work as well as 400x400. The 200 count wires would be heavier gauge. I read someone's post who tested the 325, 400, and 500 count mesh using them as kerosine lamps. The results were that the flame got larger as the mesh count got higher. I was assuming this is due to the increase of veins or surface area giving capillary action greater strength. I'll have to give them a call and see if they will send me a sample.

Well judging by this company's 200x1400 the wire gauge is larger for both directions of weave than 400x400. Straight from their sight,
200 x 1400 Warp=.0028 Weft=.0016
The reason you probably haven't heard back from who ever got the sample is because it probably didn't work as well. The gauges for 500x3500 Warp=.0010 Weft=.0006

I couldn't get them on the phone today so I sent an email. Hopefully I'll hear back.
