There is a much higher investment with a TV. The unit isn't defective, it has a design problem. It works great for a short while, then performance drops. It would work if the circuit built into the battery box were designed differently. I have a battery in the PT that has 3 times the capacit of the battery in a stock batteryy unit. It should work well.

Understanding the way the supply chain works is not based on the dollar amount of the item. And you say it's a bad design, I say you got a bad unit as mine as worked flawlessly from day 1, and continues to do so.

I don't need a lesson on business. I've been there and understand it well.

There are too many people making the same complaint I have for me to think my PT is unique. It sounds like you may have the unique PT, not me.

My unit is the joye-510 pass through, I'm not sure which one you have. To be clear on this, my unit always works. It doesn't perform at peak levels for very long. It always produces vapor. Maybe your 510 doesn't perform as well as mine does at peak performance. If I remember right, my first 2 atomizers didn't perform anything like the ones I have purchased since then. One persons "flawless" may be another persons "marginal".

Anyway, I stand by my statements. Your signature explains yours.

Hey guys, Do any of you know if I can use these= "TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium Battery" In my 510 pass through? The one that came with it was 3.6V, Got a bunch of 3.7 for a box mod, but I am not sure if they are ok to use on the PT?

Thanks for any Help ~Lissa
It would be OK if they would fit but the passthrough uses a AAA sized batt and the 14500's are a AA.

Thanks for answering my questions! As you can tell I don't know a lot about this stuff, while I hopefully would have figured it out when they got here, now I know to go ahead and order more of the AAA's. I tried a few other PV's but have decided to just stock up on all the 510 parts and be done trying to figure this stuff out for a while ;-) Heck, my old Honda isn't this complicated!

As mentioned above, what is perfect and what is merely acceptable is in the eye of the beholder, but the 510 passthroughs I got from IV work fine for me. It works as well as a fully charged battery, but lasts all day long, and is consistant hit after hit. The only problems I ever have are with wicking, and since switching to 901 carts, even that seems better (though it may be in my head).

Perhaps they are "hit or miss". Who knows. I do know that I find it useful. I got two and tried them both for a day after a few hour charge and they both worked fine for me. On the other hand, if I am away from the computer for several hours (and therefore am not using it every 5-10 minutes), I unplug it. I don't know for sure (no instructions as usual... haha) but I am afraid that overcharging it may kill it prematurely.

Thought I would give one last update. My Joye 510 pass through is no more. I am using the parts to make mods. When I took the battery box apart I found the circuit board that is probably to blame. It has Pillbox 38 screened on it so I assume that was the producer.

If you are having poor performance with your pass through, of the same type, you might consider this fix. It is possible to bypass the circuit board and remove the battery. If you are comfortable tinkering with electronic equipment that is. You should visit the modders forum and look at the things they have there any go through the tutorials.

A better idea is to look at the pass through here USB Passthrough - . I don't want to suggest that you need to modify your equipment if there is another option. If your pass through is still in warranty you should contact the vendor you purchased it from and get an exchange or refund.

I have created my own pass through and it works like the one I bought should have. I believe that the problems I and others have experienced are a quality control problem because there are some users who have bought perfectly good models just like mine.

I know I'm being Lazarus here, but this seems like a good place to post this as far as knowledge pool wise.

How long did your batteries take to charge in the "USB > Battery Block > Battery Connector" style pass throughs?

I've left mine on a powered usb hub (with it as the only thing plugged in) all night, with no performance improvement.

I'm now trying plugging it into the mains charger to see if that helps.

Thanks!

I'm sure it was already charged quite a while ago, and once it's charged, that's all you're gonna get.

It's been on the mains for the day.

Supplier thinks it's likely the atomizer, so once my order with atomizers comes in, I'll see if it's actually hinky or not. I hope it's the atomizer, because the output is depressing.

Oh, forgot to ask:

Does anyone's battery box get even warm while charging?

I wish I had a multimeter, could figure out if it's even charging. Mains adapter nor the battery box have gotten even slightly warm, but I don't know what to compare against. :)

Another update... it probably helps if i plug in the extension cord that the mains charger is plugged into, eh?

Just a little update...It's still working great. I use it many hours per day. The only thing I wish different was the button. It's a little small and pushes into my finger. But other than that it has been working great. Also I tested voltage with it running on my Cyberpower 4 port usb hub and its about 5.2v.
Hub not connected to pc just wall power with 2.5ma rating

That's great, I'm glad it's working well. I have ordered the new PS PT. Hopefully I will get it in a few weeks.
