510 passthrough

Someone correct me if I am wrong, because I'm still fairly new and may not have this right. I believe you can get a 901 or KR8 PT and get an adapter to use the 510 atty on it. madvapes is very good and does have both the 901 PT and the adapter. Also his Disposable 510 Kit is really good and cheap!

The only thing with using the 901 PT with the 510 atty that I can see is you will be getting 5 volt to the 510 atty and there seems to be some debate as to if that is ok or not. I'm sticking to my new GreenCig carts that apparently work really well at 5 volts and giving hubby all my 510 atties.

I am a bit new here, but I wanted to mention that USB 1.2 standard for power output on the 5v buss is 350 ma, and USB 2 is 500 ma. While most desktops will supply more then this, expecting it to supply 225% on a constant basis could damage the motherboard. Further, most laptops won't care for this level of abuse at all. The battery in the PT's is there do supply this actual " bust" current and the USB port just supplies a constant recharge to that battery. Would only require a couple diodes and a resistor to accomplish this. Has anyone taken one apart to see exactly what is in a battery passthrough?
