A call to you veterans.. where do us newbies go next

So I imagine I'm the average newbie starting off with a kit from V2, Greensmoke, etc...

I hope this doesn't start any arguments but maybe some of you veterans could post what you believe the next rungs of the ladder should be without jumping to the end and having equipment that we would screw up and have a bad experience with..

1. Purchase starter kit, KR808..
2.
3.
4.
5.

I started with an ego (with advice from the members here) and used it for over a year. Got me off cigs. I tried mods just to try something new/boredom factor.

I think your next step should be whatever isn't cutting it with your current PV.

If you don't like constant filling, look into a bottom feeder. If you need a little more power, look into higher voltage or variable voltage. If you want a real long battery life, look at the tube mods.

I think people skip a lot of steps if they find this forum before they start vaping. But whatever pv you get, it won't be your last!

If that is where you started, then you have come to a crossroads...

You might want to consider jumping ship for the 510 threading, to vastly expand your future options.
Or you might want to consider taking the next step and getting the X2 batteries from Smokeless Image which are KR808 compatible.

If I were you I would get the X2 batteries as the next step and see how you feel after that.
Might as well get some of their cartomizers too, if yours are not already horizontal coils.
:)

Thanks DC2, this is the kind of info I'm looking for..

Volt kits from SmokelessImage.com are wonderful and yes I second what DC2 said about the X2's. I'm about to order one of those with a clearomizer. The regular 808 cartos will fit on the X2 as well so can have multiple uses from them. I love my volt and have 3 other friends who bought them after me and also love them. Amazing customer service as well.

I completely misread your post then.

I agree with DC2.

If you're looking for something bigger, an ego type pv and you want to stick with a KR808, I believe a GoGo is a KR808. I think the echo might be a KR808 too.

Well, Just my $0.02, but I'd say that my progression would be something like:

1. Ego-style or similar
2. Cheap VV/5V mod (Lavatube or a 5v box mod probably)
3. ???
4. Provari/Darwin/Reo

3 is a fill in the blank based on what you want or what catches one's interest, and steps can be skipped if a large initial outlay is not a big deal before one is sure that vaping is right for them :)

This is about what I'd recommend. But if the person ends up liking low wattage, they can skip the 5v box mod.

I have only been vaping since Feb 10th and I could have bought the provari I received today for what I spent in pen styles that I will probably never use again. If your happy where you are just stay there but you don't have to take the steps if you are going to the top any ways. I wish I had found ECF in the beginning. I would have just bought the provari and been done.

what I'm wondering is: If you were starting over, knowing what you know now and also realizing that most of us don't have anyone local to show us this stuff.. what would be the natural progression of equipment as you move up through the skill levels of vaping.... I don't know anyone personally that is vaping, in my town.. so I get all kinds of questions.. so far the only thing I know is to steer everyone toward the "easy" stuff.... but sooner or later I and others that I turn on to vaping are going to be ready for that next step,, and the next... etc.... :)

I'll be staying with the KR for now as.. I'm hoping to open a very small shop in this very small town (pop 10,000) here in a few months.. but I would think it would be easier getting people to try something that looks a feels more like a traditional cigarette.. so In the beginning I'll just be selling KR kits supplies and a whole lot of flavors as that is what everyone seems so interested about right now.... I'm a manager at a factory and every week people are asking "what flavor are you smoking this week".. in the beginning they looked at it as a novelty, but now I'm smoke free they are starting to ask questions.... I'm putting together a small pamphlet of stuff I've learned here and other places on the facts of e-cigs so people can read about it instead of me regurgitating the same stuff over and over....

If you're going with the mini-ecig models, then go with the Smokeless Image Volt / Bloog MaxxFusion / Halo G6 models.
They are KR808 threading, but much better technology than the normal KR808 models.

Seriously.

I have no idea where I'm at
There are really no skill levels. Basically it is just time and experience. But here is something I have noticed:

Most of us started with an 808 or similar. But you find carts with filling a pain, so we moved to tanks or similar. From there it comes down to how much money and time you are willing to spend. Don't start off with VV or expensive mods, start with a basic setup that gives you plenty of choices. An ego batt is probably the most versitile, but you can get an adapter for alomst anything to anything. That said, an ego batt will give you lots of choices so you can try different types of carts, tanks, etc, in an effort to find what works for you.

This is all about "personal" preference. There are many vets that don't use vv or expensive mods because we have found something that works and stay with it. Remember that your initial outlay will be fairly high for equipment and liquid as you find out what you like and what works best for you. Some will spend lots of $$ for stuff that might not work for you. Being a veteran doesn't mean that you have lots of toys, but that you have been around, seen and heard alot, and know what works for you. It just takes time. I sometimes envied the guys that started vaping with an ego-t, but when I started they didn't exist and I just plugged along with my 808 until it did.

Once you find something that works for you , then you might consider DIY. Sometimes it isn't the equipment, but the liquid. I am mixing a 95%VG liquid that gives me tons of vapor, flavor to my liking, in a system that is easy for me to use (batts recharge quick and last me all day, I have plenty of cart/tank options, and it is highly portable). Of course I try different stuff, like the new stardust, but I have my goto stuff that I know will give me vaping enjoyment.

Remember that it is all the same basic idea: get juice to a coil, get power to the coil, create vapor, repeat, clean, start again.
Choose a system, get extra batts, try different feeder styles and different flavors/liquids, and you will be there before you know it.

Saludos

Kgo kit from hoosier ecig or dark city vapor

I agree with this. The Kgo or E-Power is a good step up and much better than an eGo which only has a 3.4 volt battery. Another good option is the selectable power EVO. The same size as the Kgo but you can choose 3.7 volt, 4.5 volts or 5.0 volts. Simple but gives you a few more options in the same low price range.
