The headline is corrected, but in the body of the article...
Ah, I see. I don't think she meant any harm. She seems like a nice girl. Hopefully she doesn't get harassed by a bunch of ...... off vapers. She's a young mom doing her job. Reminds me of my wife as they are the same age and our kids are same age as well.
but in the body of the article...
"The use of e-cigarettes in the United States is increasing rapidly and the flavorings used, many of which contain diacetyl, may be harmful. This case adds to the growing body of research indicating e-cigarettes pose a health risk," said Dr. Graham Atkins, of White River Junction VA Hospital, lead researcher."
I'm sorry, but she's not "doing her job" by concocting alarmist headlines out of thin air. Being "nice" is no excuse.

Okay now, since the fact that I (and thousands, millions? of others) who quit smoking, feel better and have measurably better health statistics with an ecig am still viewed as merely an anecdote, how come this guy ranks as part of a growing body of research?
Right. Do you think the word "diacetyl" would have even been in the article, been on the radar AT ALL if not for the hand-wringing of vapers? It's a self-fulfilling prophesy.it seems to me they have a source and are looking for a diagnosis. or should I say headline.

Ok all you betting people. Ten to one next month this will be the smoking gun they haveAha! They (Graham Atkins, et al.) are doing a study to be released on Oct 27th on ecigs and diacetyl. They're using the "69% of sweet flavored eliquids" deal (which we've seen here) along with further study...
This, with the lie in the headline and the retraction, was just a PR stunt with the help of an idiot reporter. The 'piece' along with the 'popcorn lung' headline has been repeated in several articles within the 'CHEST/lung researchers' community. I'm sure they have people waiting for the release of the forthcoming study.

been looking (nay praying) for.
Every single vaper that goes to the doctor with the flu will now be documented.
Do you vape? We have to know so we can diagnose you properly.
Mike
Well, here's my diagnosis: post hoc ergo propter hoc.it seems to me they have a source and are looking for a diagnosis. or should I say headline.
