Oh, I know that. This ain't my first rodeo. Usually when someone gets banned and people whine, I can't say anything because we have a policy that we don't discuss disciplinary actions against a member with other members. It's a matter of privacy. So I'll just bite my tongue and let them vent and come up with whatever conspiracy theories they want, as long as no rules are broken.

In this case, I felt I could say something, because there were no disciplinary actions involved. To be honest, I probably should have done like I always have, and bite my tongue, rather than vent a bit as I did. Hey, I'm not perfect.

That first part was meant as a Joke Angus. I've never really thought of you as a mod. I know you are one but I just never thought about it. I can however understand how it would make you feel to have someone say such an idiotic thing as you having a vendetta against others..

Hey, I'm not perfect.

But of course you are. You're perfect and you're handsome. :D

And if you ever get banned, I'll be the first one to start collecting signatures and whining to have you reinstated. :) :p

Seriously, I think we all understand how tough it is to be a mod and we appreciate the hard work you do. Really. Thanks, Angus!

Now that I am back, I would like to chime in.

I have always been treated fairly in the past by moderators, they have a thankless job to do and without them this place would turn into a cesspool like any forum who choses the stance of allowing the members to moderate themselves.

I have in the past had several decisions reversed through calm and private conversations wrt the subject. So no they are not Nazis, they are just doing a thankless job and most do not see what goes on in the background as many did not see what went on in the background here during my sabbatical.

Yes I was POed over the events of Tuesday evening and the moderators granted me my wish. In retrospect it allowed me the cool down period to view things in a more objective way, and I personally would like to thank them for that. IMO we don't say it enough. They also need a pat on the back for doing the ungrateful job we have thrust upon them.

The sad part of this fiasco is that I will no longer participate in the sub that caused me such grief since last fall. There are many folks who attend in absentia and simply do not post over there anymore. Unfortunately for the good of the many... I had to make a decision. The good of the many outweigh the needs of a few, therefore I have asked to be re-instated and all is well once again. I do hope one day the sub returns to its former glory, but for the mean time we have to allow nature to run it's course over there. :toast: beers on me!

Ok... who let the bear out of his cage?

Welcome back, Switched. I'm glad you decided to return. You can see that a lot of people around here care about you, and would really miss you if you decided to leave for good. Sometimes it's a good thing to take a step back and let things calm down.

Back when I was just a regular member, I posted a lot in the OUTSIDE forum. It got to the point where I had to step away from the computer and walk away before I posted things in certain threads that would have gotten me banned. I know myself enough to realize that I need to stay out of serious conversations about religion and politics. So I completely understand your point of view.
