I'd quit my E-Cig and moved back to regular smokes, which was a freakin terrible idea because I chained smoked like never before for 2 weeks.

But I did so because the E-Cig was giving me a persistent and annoying sore throat that didn't go away after 4 weeks of vaping and I'm just curious if anybody else had this issue for longer than a month?

Anyway, I'm switching back today - a sore throat has got to be better than how I felt this morning.

I see alot of people withdrawing in my profession. And what I can say is that itching, aches, flu like symptoms, hot and cold, sweats, anxiety, are also symptoms of drug withdrawel. I know nicotine is an addicting drug, but you never know what else is addicting in an analog. I'm sure there are several additives in ther that could be. Or those other analog chemicals could also enhance the addiction to nicotine.

Had an annual scheduled check up yesterday after 31 days vaping. Previously smoked for 48 years 30-40 analogs per day. Breathing is much better, sense of smell has returned, sleeping much better. Blood samples red not purple :)

BP up a little, since last annual check up. But I put on a good 10 pounds since then and before starting to vape because I stopped going to the gym at Christmas and have been eating too many bacon sandwiches this winter.

Doc v pleased anyway. Peak flow meter shows big improvement.
Suggested I gradually cut out my asthma medication. He says the brown flecks in phlegm are signs of cell regeneration.

Oh yea, one more thing. Hangover symptoms are caused by dehydration. How many symptoms do you have that feel like a hangover? People here are correct when they say drink alot of fluids, at least 64 ounces, maybe more, esp in the morning.

Hi Seminolewind,

Have yr heartburn in mind when I say be sure you start on the same or lower dose of nic that you get from yr analogs, to avoid Od ing on the nic which has caused heartburn for some folks.

Wish I knew which thread the info is on about calculating yr intake.
Will post it if I can find it.
Hope this helps you feel calmer.

Thanks, I did the calculations last night. Maybe I'm just anxious about starting tomorrow?

For Seminolewind

I have this annoying habit of saving quotes to a Word doc when I think they will be handy. However, I don't attribute the quotes, so I hope the original posters won't be miffed.

Sorry guys!

:)

1. <<An Easy Way to Control Your Vaping
Okay, from all my learning and reading here, many people say that they are vaping too much, don't know how much nic they are intaking, and so forth. I'm just doing this a very simple way.

I have a 4 ml little glass bottle. I know that 1/2 of it is 2 ml. I smoked a pack a day of regular ciggys. I use the 11 ml strength which means that 2 ml of 11 a day would equal about 22 regular ciggys. So I pick my juice of the day, stay on that bottle all day, don't do more than 2 ml which I don't even come close, PLUS I dillute that 11 by 25 to 50% so I KNOW I'm taking in way less nic than I used to, but it feels like I'm vaping more. >>

2. <<A general guide to cartridges:

Super Minis (RN4081, RN4088, DSE103, etc...): About 1-3 cigs worth (20-30 puffs) They hold around 0.3ml of eliquid.

Mini (DSE901, etc...): 5-6 cigs worth (50-75 puffs depending on how you puff) They hold around 0.5ml of eliquid.

Penstyle/classic (DSE801, RN4072, etc...): 7-10 cigs worth (up to about 100 puffs) They hold around 1ml of eliquid.

eCigar: 10-12 cigs worth (up to about 120-130 puffs) They hold around 1.2ml of eliquid.

Pipe (DSE601, etc...) At least 14-15 cigs worth.>>

3. <<Most people vape between 1 and 2mls of e-juice per day if that helps. >>

4. <<Katink gave some good advice earlier to someone. Try at first to get close to your usual dose, so if you smoked 20x full strength 1mg cigs a day you would need 20mg of nic - that's 2ml of 10mg. Once you have tried it then adjust the strength up or down gradually as desired. That way you aren't starting with massive doses for your level of tolerance but are still getting enough to wean you off the tobacco.>>

Hi got my 901 yesterday, charged the battery over night, and started this morning. It's pretty good, about what I thought I'd expect. But waahhhhhh! They sent 4 prefilled and that's for today and what do I do tomorrow? I guess I'll try cutting with glycerin, and........wait.
I really haven't cut down on my analogs yet. Does it take a few days?

It really is a very variable experience. Folks are all a bit different and start out with different materials anyway. So it's hard to give advice about an "ideal" start.

Go with the flow and have supplies of what you fancy for as far ahead as yr budget permits. You might not want to or have to revert to analogs if you have enough to vape.

Keep an open mind, but the analogs might taste foul - one puff the day I started vaping was enough to tell me I'd not be going back and that I'd have to stock up on vapes.

Happy vaping, Seminole!

I was a 1-to-2 pack/day smoker for 25 years. Started vaping a month ago, settling on 18-24mg as a good nic level to keep the headaches at bay. But this is only Day 4 of quitting the analogs completely, and my body's just now realizing what's happening and throwing a major temper tantrum! All my senses are waking up, but on the wrong side of the bed. Cursing me for all the damage I've done.

Positive symptoms: smoker's hack disappeared almost immediately, though I'm still coughing up the "lung cookies". SF hill-climbing seems a wee bit easier now. Boyfriend says I smell much nicer.

Negatives: Got a stiff neck about a week ago -- I have a muscle next to my right shoulder-blade that seizes up occasionally, leading to a stiff neck. It's the same old muscle bothering me now, so maybe it's related to the vaping or maybe not. But on Day 3, here comes the proverbial smoker's flu! Well, a head-cold, not as bad as the real flu. My throat's on fire, my nose is all stuffed up and I'm just achy all over. Blecch. But I'm determined to get through this. I'm convinced after reading all these messages that my body is just kickin' up a lot of dust right now, and this too shall pass. (But please hurry!)

A lot of the symptoms people are reporting (dry throat, dry skin, muscle cramping, headache, etc.) can be symptoms of dehydration. It is not only the PG that can do this--nicotine itself is a serious diuretic, causing excessive water loss, urination and dryness. In my experience with vaping that it is *very* easy to inhale much more nicotine than with cigarettes. The other materials in the cigarettes (particularly carbon monoxide I think) provide immediate warning symptoms about how much we're smoking. The vaping is so pure and generally free of immediate side effects that it's possible to "smoke" a lot more. This was my experience and I quickly went from medium fluids to low, to low diluted 50/50 with VG. This last formula is plenty of nicotine for me and I was a fairly heavy smoker.

I thinking the vaporisers are a Godsend. If the FDA were interested in public health they'd be educating us about how to use them to maximum advantage.

I thought I've been lucky so far, not suffering from any major side affects from vaping.
But this past week I've noticed I've been retaining water. I do drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration, but suddenly my body seems to be retaining lots more then usual so much so that it makes me feel very unconfortable. Swollen feet, legs, hands and sometimes my abdomin.

I've never experience this before. Has anyone else experienced this, is it just a withdrawl symptom , will it pass?

I have the opossite effect of not retaining water, I had to stop vaping for a few days because of the nasal dryness and constipation after the first 5 days, even after drinking lots of water, now I'm back to analogs:mad: I had such high hopes for e-cigs as my salvation from tobacco that I ordered a bunch of juice and atomizers, but I'm really drepessed that I might not be able to continue vaping. Anybody had this happen? I'm going to try to ease into it again next week, wish me luck.

Sorry to hear that:(
I had some dry skin problems for the first week, but inside my nose was dry for only the last day of that week. Now everything is normal...good quality nasal drip now:lol:

Anywhooo.... for the no poo issue (listen to me rhyme), remember that there could be other issues involved...say maybe too much cheese in your ommlette? I would suggest easing into it again, and monitor your other potential influences...diet/stress...

And this may sound really weird, but do keep us posted about the poo problem!:lol:
