Yeah, there doesn't have to be a budget, like others have posted. Don't neglect your bills, your pets, your kids, spend whatever you feel comfortable with.

For me, my comfort level goes down in comparison to my bank balance. So if I don't push the brakes now, it might be too late to push them later.

Remember when I was vaping the first time, I jumped in over my head very quickly, spent a TON of money and got totally overwhelmed and just quit. I can't/don't want to do that this time!

Hmmm vaping Budget..... sounds traumatizing. First day I spend quiet a chunk of money since I got a Z-max, wrapped with 2 cirrus glass tanks, anodized in purple and pink, so,e juices, cartos and then I bought 2 itazte mvp for my two sons (27 and 30) that currently live with me and were smoking... hard to quit when people light up next to you. And of course they needed juices as well.
Since then I have spent quiet a bit on cartos (my fav juice has the tendency to clog a carto in a day or so), many different juices to try and find more personal favorites. Drip tips, rebuildables, co-ops for different mods, coils, wicking material, tools (since all of mine were way too big to do miniature work), mesh ohhh and then I got a cool suitcase (metal) to store all my gidgets and gadgets... MY birthday just passed and I really really wanted the iHybrid celtic but they haven't went on sale yet.. but but but I am hoping I get one in. As for budget I try to stay within reason, but becoming quickly a hoarder when it comes to disposable items and juices... can't run out of juice or cartos now can we???? The drippers are ok for home use but 12 hour shifts require a tank and carto...
The window(s) shopping doesn't work to well for me, like filling a cart and not checking it out? It's mine all mine mwuahaha
Was so bummed when I was able to add a F3cta to my cart and then was unable to check it out.. less than 30 seconds after they went on sale /sigh.

I'm not really budgeting yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. However, I spent over $500 a month on analogs, because a) I was a chain smoker, and b) I smoked about the most expensive brand out there (Benson and Hedges Deluxe Menthol Ultralights). So even with my recent Provari purchase, I'd have to go a long way to equal that every single month. Not to mention the healthcare costs even short term (I have asthma, so was a person who had NO business smoking at all, as my frequent lung infections and doctor visits testified.)

At this point, I will gladly spend all and more that I spent monthly on smoking, if it keeps me off the stinky eventual-COPD sticks. No contest, no debate. On the bright budgetary side, we are planning a trip to visit family in SC in July, and a ton of my young nieces and nephews smoke, as does my sister. Any spare "outgrown" ego mods, extra stuff, juice, etc will be going with us to hand out as samples to my family. I'm hoping to get at least a few hooked on vaping rather than analogs.

that is wonderful MartiP ... if you don't have enough to go around, you can always go to vapedojo and get some 12.99 kits to fill out with
Katana Kit

Wow! Thanks for the tip. Depending on how many are going to be around that week (big family), I may take some of those along as well. Eeeeevrybody vapes!

Okay, budget be damned, fasttech is stocking evods at a ridiculous low price. So I placed a modest 2 of them into my cart, but they looked so lonely!! Also got backup batteries for my mods, 2 10 ml bottles of RY4/RY1 that I've been trying to get my hands on for months, and I kept it under $30. I'm happy with that!

Now, this thread is not intended to ground the rest of you! Bridget, I found another site Vaporbreak has Vamo's for a little less than Fasttech, if that arouses any interest, go check them out! If you sign in while browsing the price automatically adjusts lower, and I'm pretty sure there's a discount code at checkout floating around here somewhere. Do some windows shopping until you decide to pull the trigger on one!

The funny thing is that if someone had told me that to quit smoking by vaping it would cost $1,000 up front for the equipment, plus $500 for orientation supplies, plus $50-75 per month in supplies, I would have thought that to be perfectly reasonable. Given the health risks of continuing to smoke, that would sound like a bargain. And my budget director (wife) would have agreed.

It's the learning curve, continuous equipment upgrades as I learned, and the postage costs of figuring it out piecemeal that eat up the money.

The best thing I did was getting a pre-paid debit card to use for vaping supplies. I feel better that I'm not exposing my regular credit card number to fraud. And even better, it limits my impulse spending.

I made an exception for extra DIY supplies, but justified it by thinking of how much it would save me in the long run if I made my own juice, but since then I've stuck to my budget.

Agree. If I had the $ back I spent on crappy batteries, tanks, and juice I didn't like, I'd be $ ahead for sure.

Have to stop browsing at all my favorite vendors, finding stuff in stock that's been out of stock forever, then ordering it without thinking of the consequences.

I get paid twice per month. I know how much I'm "saving" by not smoking, and can hopefully restrict myself to spending just that much each pay period.

The question in my mind is what if they are out of stock on my "ordering day" and then my addictive personality comes into play! Someone mentioned eating beans for a week, not sure if my kids would go for it!

Would you recommend a twice monthly ordering day, or just order whenever you feel like it but stay within the budget?

I just order. I shouldn't...but I do. I am pretty much done for now except for new nova heads and juice. I have just recently ordered a vamo, 4 panasonic 2250mAh 18650 batteries, 2 Efest 800mAh 18350 batteries and a nitecore i4 charger. Today I ordered 2 of the panasonic 3400mAh 18650 batteries. They only thing I could think of buying is a protank. But i'm in no hurry for it.

I would love to DIY only. However, in past attempts all I could reliably create was drain fluid. I'm still keeping my hand in though, modifying juice that doesn't have it all, and will try it again someday when I find large quantities of one really good vendor juice to tide me over until I create something vapable.
