After puffing the smok Nord for the last 52 days I am astounded by the control over my vape that I get with this new device. Between airflow control and power control there’s an entire world of options to explore. I got the Aegis Mini kit with two 0.3 ohm coils. These coils are recommended to run between 30-45W. I started at 30W with a tight airflow thinking I would get a nice MTL hit. Not so much. There was really nothing there. Opening up the air at 30W gave me a ton of cloud and flavor, but it was much too hot for my liking. Next I began running through AF and power combos and discovered what most of you already know; how fine you can tweak things to find your “sweet spot” with a device like this. Not saying that I’ve found my sweet spot, or favorite juice, but I’m finally getting flavor. And, flavor that I have control over. And I can get lung hits and throat hits, warmer and cooler hits. All with fine control that really makes a noticeable difference with the smallest tweak.

This is not to be taken as a rave review of the Mini. There are tons of mods and tank combos that can do all this and much more, it’s just a note on my journey and me discovering how I can have options over my vape experience. That’s a big Wow in my book. As for the Nord, it’s what kept me off cigarettes for this long. And for that I’ll ever be grateful.

Finally, a shout out to ECF. Just thanks!

    Welcome aboard

Congrats on being smoke-free for 52 days :thumb:

I had a similar experience when I tried my first tank/mod combo. I fiddled around and played for hours ;)

If you are looking for more of a mtl tank to use on your Aegis mini mod - have a look at the Innokin Zenith tank. It has excellent flavour, and plenty of options to play around with

Yes Innokin or Aspire the best bet for MTL stock coil tanks!

Thank you. I think for my next Big step I'll look for something in an RTA that I can wick. Just caus I want to. :)

Here ya go... An aspire MTL tank with a coil... Along with an rda... Or mix and match... All for 13$ shipped, and they have a 5$ off coupon too.
    Aspire Quad-Flex Tank Survival Kit
This is actually a nice piece of kit. I run it as an RDTA, but - with all the bits and bobs - it can be an RDA, an RSA, or a tank (loose MTL or very restricted DL). Dunno why it wasn't better received...

Because of the top air flow on the X... The regular nautilus has such a cult following of flavoristas... So really no market. It's a solid, if not simple, RDA. Only complaint I have is the plastic top cap (heat shield) and proprietary drip tip... But it works well...

Glad you took the progression, some start with a simple device and if it doesn't work, call it quits. There are so many options and finding the best one takes time and patience, so well done...I do think rebuilding is the pinnacle of vaping, especially rtas, so good luck my friend

At first a vape device can become a new hobby. Especially if you like to tinker with small stuff like twisting thin wire into that perfect coil and trimming cotton to the exactly correct length.

Or you can opt for pre-made convenience in coil pack drop in's and enjoy tweaking the pleasure via modular devices where with some you can even tweak the 'zap' to the coil pack through firmware changes or menu choices.

Or you can go the total simple route and go with refillable pod devices where you can go ultra-simple, somewhat adjustable or in-between.

It's a great time to be a vaper.

It's a good time to be taking up vaping, in some ways at least. So much good gear available. My first proper tank was a Pro Tank. You could move the air control ring but it didn't make much difference. Not long before I started people had to work like crazy just to get a vape without dry hits. I envy you a bit @Red Beard.

Downside is there's so much choice it could make your eyes spin. Plus the Gov might take it all away tomorrow.

So true, I love to tinker. When I was a kid my first transistor radio was spaghetti within the first hour. I love electronics, and mechanics, and to rip things apart and rebuild them again. That is me in a nutshell.

Oh you are gonna just LOVE RTAs ;)

For me, it's the hobby/tinkering aspect of building your own coils, wicking them, shoving them into an RTA and then the RTA actually working properly that makes vaping so interesting an enjoyable :thumb:

Well, thank you all for all of your reply's and support . It's appreciated. Last night I think I got a little out of pocket. I apologize . I had a nice talk with my beautiful wife and she agreed, I may be smoke free, but I can still be a little agitated, I suppose it is a journey. So here we go ->
