Well technically, I am single in that I am no longer married, but my offspring is over 21. I have a long term partner and I was the one who introduced him to ecigs when I discovered them a few weeks ago.
I have smoked for thirty years and being with another smoker drove my consumption up to about 30 a day. I am down to 1 after three weeks! I just have to kick that one out and I am there. I have 22 fags left, so suppose it will take three weeks, lol.

I see what you are saying about being a single parent Suzi and I realise now that I asked the wrong question, I was thinking of women who have dependant children to look after. Shannon was saying on another thread that there aren't as many women here because they were busy looking after kids and maintaining households.

I might try to alter the poll categories if it's possible and I can find a mod.

Well done on cutting down on cigs so much, I'm sure you'll cut out that last one when you're ready.

what about step parent? of grown kids....whats a geek? hubby? hahaha...I got one of those but I am the geek, at least when it comes to electronics.

If you don't have dependant kids I'd appreciate it if you would vote in the no children option. One of the things I'm trying to find out is if the low numbers of women on the forum are to do with some women being too busy looking after kids to be able to participate.

At the moment we have three women with dependants and twelve without so that does suggest that it's a major factor in forum activity.

The geekiness test is inconclusive, I'd say that it isn't a factor here. I honestly expected esmoking to be more attractive to geeks considering the gadget side of things and the fiddling around we have to do.

For many years I was a single parent with dependent children - it didn't stop me using the internet. Is that because I'm some kind of "geek" (hate that word - it stereotypes) or because I'm male?

The inference you're making Kate would suggest the "geek" answer. You're assuming (female) single parents are too busy. Perhaps - there's something in that - a single parent can certainly be very busy but they can also have other issues - not least of them a sense of being alone. Feeling that way may have some single parents as active on forums as anyone else - but perhaps not on a e-cig forum.
