... FIRST! ... A stupid question ...

I really, REALLY don't want to have to worry about Voltage versus Wattage. Does this matter?

Here's the deal ...

My VAMO died (RIP) after just 2 months ... I LOVED that damn thing but, while it's away in the shop, I have no back up. And if I get a back up, it better be dependable.

Enter, the Provari.

So, I've watched a million reviews and know it's great. What I want to know is ...

Can I just turn it on, set it to whatever wattage or voltage I want, and vape away? Do I have to be concerned about "if it's at 9 watts, that means it's at 3.5 volts" ... Does this matter?

I'm confused by the reviews that mention both settings and wondering, do I HAVE to change the settings for both ... example: if I'm vaping at 9 watts do I then enter in 3.5 volts and THEN vape ...? Am I making any sense?

I guess I'm hoping that I can just turn it on, set it to wattage I want and vape away. Why do I have to know both numbers ... because if that's the case, I suck at math and I'll just go with the LAVATUBE as it does all the math for me ...

ARGHHH!

I'm overthinking this, aren't I ...

YUP!
That and the fact that the Provari doesn't have wattage adjustment, JUST voltage.
look at the reviews again to understand its function.

I'm more of a mechanical mod guy myself, but i would say that you are better off with a Provari / Darwin than any other chipped device.

Many will disagree with me, and tell you to spend your money, on the newest flashy mod that just came out... with the "latest revision", but they are all the same. Just a bunch of crap that has been pumped out of china before it has had a chance to be tested.

As a vaper that has been around for over 2.5 years... Just get a Provari, Theyve been around longer than i have... lol

High on Vaping
I had a Vamo for 3 months.
Used it on wattage, never had one burnt taste hit ever. Each and every hit was great and the best.

I decided to buy a ProVari, it is a great device, But I do get a burnt taste at least once or twice a day.
I use the same juice and the same tank that I did on the Vamo.
I have gone up and down with the voltage on the ProVari but as it's only once or twice a day it happens it's hard to set it so I never get a burnt taste.

I'd say the Vamo is, when it works. one of the best things around at the moment
I sold mine like an idiot, so I am now about to buy another one.

At the end of the day, the proVari will last longer, it is built so much better, looks so much better but the Vamo has something which stops any burnt taste with vaping in it.

Not to me. It's user choice.

No, just vape away. You don't need to worry about that unless it's hauling heavy loads such as 28ga Gennys.

I'm confused by the reviews that mention both settings and wondering, do I HAVE to change the settings for both ... example: if I'm vaping at 9 watts do I then enter in 3.5 volts and THEN vape ...? Am I making any sense?
You set it, then vape away. Not complicated. No VW on the Provari, voltage only.

I guess I'm hoping that I can just turn it on, set it to wattage I want and vape away.
Voltage only, no wattage.

Why do I have to know both numbers ... because if that's the case, I suck at math and I'll just go with the LAVATUBE as it does all the math for me ...
It's not complicated. Buy whatever device you like and you'll figure out in very short order how it works. The worst part of all this is you worrying about it.

Why would you invest in more cheap China made junk--LAVATUBE?
Provaris are built to last...... Voltage is so easy..... do the math to figure out your wattage... Volts x Volts / Atty ohms = Watts
Yes you are over thinking it...

"" ProVari doesn't have VW capability anyway.""

Ok ... if you'll all excuse me, Imma just gonna go peel the giant capital "L" (for LOSER) off my forehead ...

Crikey! ...

So answer me this ... I DO need to understand what oms my delivery mechanism is, in order to set the proper voltage, right?

I use VIVI nova's mostly ... and I've kinda just done it by taste, to be honest with you. The thing is, I don't want to screw up the until by cranking it up too high ... this means understanding the math, doesn't it? :( ... as in - with a vivi nova mini, I need to set the voltage to ...

I was wondering the same things when I switched from eVic to provari two weeks ago. And a little trick I read from one of the other threads helped me out without thinking about the math... If you're like me a like vaping at around 8 watts.. Then when you know the resistance of the atty add 2 to get a volt setting number this of course is a helper and is good to start with until u get used to voltage and then is becoms automatic in your head

So if you have a 1.7 ohms resistance add 2 for 3.7 volts and you get 8 watts

2.1 ohms 4.1 volts.... 8 watts

3.0 ohms 5 volts ... 8.3 watts...

You get the idea my preferred watts in 8 for me... If you prefer 10 watts... Then add 2.5... Ect

Cheers

Sent from mobile device that inserts lots of typos.

OKEEDOKKEEE ... I'm getting the damn thing!

OK - WHAT'S A ZAP For *$% sake? LOL

Thompson - BLESS YOU!

ZAP stands for Z-Atty Pro. It's a $150 rebuildable genesis atomiser made exclusively and sold exclusively for the ProVari and by ProVape respectively. :)

Your Vivi's are fine... if your going to spend the money on something else, Do some research, or go to a vape meet to see what others are playing around with...

I hate the taste of cartos, so i wouldn't recommend them. But who knows, you may like them...

If you want to try your hand at rebuildable geni-style tanks, there are units for $30 that you can play with.
no need for the $150 price tag, if you are unsure you will like it... And if you are in love with the setup, then get the ZAP.

The ohms +2 method is a great starting point. Honestly, there's more going on in the Vamo than there is in a ProVari. If you had your Vamo figured out, it'll take you all of a day (at most) to put you current knowledge to use on the Provari. There's a learning curve with everything, but you've already come this far (and you're asking for help here) so you must be a smart person. :D
