I'm buying my first rda to learn how to build on. I just subscribed to Zamplebox so I'm wanting something to test the flavors on (maybe a little cloud chasing as well). I've heard good things about the Magma clone from FT. I see there is two types offered on FT:

$13.18 Magma Style Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - stainless steel / PVD coating at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

and

$15.36 Magma V2 Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - stainless steel / black plated / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Which one would fit best for what I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance!

The V2 is a clone of Paradigm's newer dripper, the Vengeance. It's got a bit more airflow and is a bit easier to build, I'm liking the clone I have a lot so far. I personally am liking it a bit more than the original Magma so far, I think flavor is around the same but the Vengeance is a bit less prone to leaking and I personally prefer the straight 22mm look of it over the Magma. I also like the delrin wide bore drip tip it comes with as it makes re-dripping that much easier as I don't need to worry about accidently getting any juice on the inside of the drip tip and having it possibly coming back up while I'm taking a vape.

It sounds like the Vengeance is an overall better option.

Is there a benefit to getting the authentic Vengeance over a clone? And are their any better options for which Vengeance clone? Or are they all about the same?

I don't have enough money to be buying authentics every month so I stick with clones personally. I've only regretted the 2 authentics I've bought and that was over $300 spent between the two, neither of which have been used in over a year now. If you think you'll be sticking with the 1 dripper for a while or can swing the price, you'd probably get a better quality device. It's up to you if you think it's worth the extra $100.

There's not really any info around about the clones, I tried looking myself before I bought mine and couldn't find anything really and only a couple videos even about the authentic. The one on FT looks to be a different manufacturer judging by the box it comes in, mine was made by "Cloud Cig" and I have no complaints about its quality so far, no scratches or anything and the engraving on the bottom looks perfect.

I'd suggest this one:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/3028/10008103/1754904

It does not have the white insulator block in the middle; I find the white block seems to contribute to the taste;
the v2 seems to be designed for quad coil.

I prefer the simplicity of the 2 posts in the original.

and I see you chose the black; I wouldn't buy a black coated topper; that hot coil in it neat a black coating isn't something I would trust.

That's what I'd recommend if you're set on a Magma (Great RDA, btw, I still use mine tho I prefer something with more airflow). .... fasttech, last time I ordered from them (all items in stock, no batteries) it took 4 months from order --> door. Angelcigs is just as cheap and they have a US based warehouse :p

You also may want to consider something like a derringer, plumeveil, etc. with a T center post to build on. The Magma is nice, but building on it is different than most of your RDA's out there ^_^
