While it does suck that they took basketball and football of the local channels. I completely agree with that. I do however like the Big Ten Network for the fact that they have opened the Midwest up to see a lot of sporting events that you normally wouldn't see on regular tv.
Baseball, softball, wrestling, golf, hockey. And I know a lot of people don't really care about the smaller sports, but I enjoy the smaller money making college sports. There are very few sports that I will not watch. I was more ...... about there lack of negotiating skills with Comcast at the time that the Network started. But they got that cleared up.
And your right about this expansion being all about money. With the Big Ten being centrally in the Midwest they are loosing a lot of money on the east coast and out west. With the expansion of Nebraska and Missouri this will open up a lot of viewers and the interested in some Big East teams will open up the coast. But eventually every a lot of conferences will start doing this. Look at how many teams the Pac 10 is trying to steal from the Big 12. They want 6 teams to convert over so they can start The Pac 10 Network.
