Yes, I'm still here and still using oils. Mint oils specifically. For some reason mint oils got confused with veggy oil and mineral oil. (I've got one recipe that uses orange oil that I don't mix anymore because it is such a pain in the rump to get that oil to mix)
There is a lung condition that is most often found in fire eaters that comes from inhaling veggy and/or mineral oil particulates. Folks who lean toward caution in things equate all oils to having this same potential health issue. I don't think that way. Mint oils are so potent that tiny amounts go a LONG way. TPA/TFA makes some good soluble mint flavorings that are good, but not quite the same flavor as real oil.
(I also use anise oil, but it's another of my butterfly fart things so I don't talk about it too much)
My risk tolerance level may be a bit more aggressive than some, but from my assessment mint oils don't even cause the needle to budge off the peg. Your meter may differ.
