Would an insurance policy be null and void if we said that we did not smoke, then we died of something, and it was found that we vaped?

Yes, it would if the claim was made during the contestable period. All you would get is the premiums that you had paid for the insurance. I print out these contracts for a living, so I do know my way around an insurance form.

It's a hard to face fact, but we have very powerful entities trying to put an end to vaping. The FDA was granted the power to regulare nicotine liquids as a tobacco product. Certainly as a first step to taxing the hell out of it. The pharm companies are lobbying our legislators and recomending to orgs like the American Lung Assoc. that they consider it the same as smoking, certinly to protect their billion dollar smoking cessation drug market. This is just another one for the BOHICA file (bend over here it comes again)

You wouldn't care, but your beneficiaries would. I don't know how they would be able to find out, but I'm sure there's a way. Hearsay wouldn't be enough (asking your friends and neighbors). I've never heard of a nicotine sample being tested for cotinine on a corpse, but there's always a first time.

It's ridiculous how stringent our regulations are getting. Companies are not hiring smokers these days and vaping, although it's accepted by most doctors as a good alternative to cigarettes. We are soon to be outcasts.

Wait until they decide not to hire anyone who weighs more than the actuarial tables say. Wait! Fat people are a protected group! They'll get theirs with the Fat Tax on fast food. Wait for it ... it's coming.
State government in Delaware can and does refuse to hire anyone over their weight guidelines.
