I read a lot of... speculation.. on this board that reminds me that few really know this man and what he stands for. I ALWAYS bite my tongue and let the speculation go. It isn't my intention to be contentious, but I would fall on my own sword if this were ever proved to be the case in his business model. It is entirely possible that formulations are being rethought to use less numbers of ingredients in the overall mix of the spectrum, to aid in getting FDA approval of ingredients, but I don't think "the "old bottom" (almighty?) dollar" is the motivation. Survival in a regulatory environment requires some sacrifices. Nobody is likely less pleased about that than the Man himself.

I do understand why Wlad is not making any public announcements as to which direction he is taking his company. There is probably a million things to consider that we are not even aware of.

I would agree if Wlad would just say that himself. He has not said that. What he has said is that SOME were changed. How they were changed to some extent but not really. I hope you are correct my friend. I doubt you would survive a cutlass.
If he is changing things due to pending regulations, he is being superficial at the least in his choices. Unless he already knows what will and will not fly with the FDA.

I'm asking because the question has arisen and it needs to be hashed out. I feel there is no other place more fitting than right here on ECF since most of us get the same kind of response from Wlad. I'm not even going to email AHL about this.

The Question:
Have you, or any of you AHL fans, tasted a distinctive difference in the bases? I mean I use to love the base taste that is one reason I like so many FOOB. It's gone!
I almost do not recognize the latest NET tobaccos as if they contain no NET at all. Please though, this is not to start a chit slinging. It's just an honest question for someone that loves AHL juices still. I just miss the base flavor. Could be my palate has become so accustomed to it that I no longer taste it? Idk?

Sadly, I am finding this with my own stash. I have 150mls of CWW on hand. 90mls from 2 months ago, which is awesome, and 60mls from an order 4 weeks ago. This latest batch is missing the tobacco note I fell in love with. 60mls of Smooth Criminal ordered last week taste nothing like my other bottle I fell in love with. And lastly, my most recent bottle of Shipwreck (60mls) is not like my other bottle.

I am hoping all this newer juice just needs a good steeping. If that doesn't help, it will stink something heavy because I mainly buy 60ml bottles, two of each flavor at a time.

Ahlusion grabbed me with their fine tobacco flavors.....

Although I am an avid Wild Wood fan, I home extract tobaccos. Although nothing is remotely like the WWs, I do have enough tobacco flavors I REALLY like that I would still be a Fangirl of Ahlusion for other flavors should I find "new" tobacco formulas not to my liking.

Yes I too was drawn in by the NETs. I opened my four month old bottle of SC this morning and almost cried. It's that familiar crisp NET with that smooth base that I fell in love with. Sad, sad.

Yep..AHL fruits and deserts are amazing. I for one do not always vape deserts and fruit those are in my rotation but I'm mainly a tobacco fan. So two, three more vendors to try on tobacco NETs. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Money being a motivation for Wlad is laughable even one knows nothing about the man other than his flavoring skills. In case no one has noticed there has not exactly been a stampede of flavorists, not even mediocre ones, escaping the flavoring/perfume houses to set up shop to cash in on the booming e-cig industry. That's because the money is so very, very good right where they are at. Flavorists of Wlad's caliber are paid like rock stars and are pretty much treated as gods.

The Orange Blossom White Tea is doing a better than fair job of ameliorating the loss of Ginger Orange Oolong.

I don't think anyone is questioning his integrity. Personally, i find it difficult to follow his line of reasoning at times and find it difficult to get clear and concise answers to my questions. But i don't doubt his integrity in any way.

The man has a right to run his company anyway he sees fit and does not need to consult with his online customers ! At the same time a heads up would be nice when changes are being made to a popular juice ( if they are being made ), or if they are being removed. Not a question of integrity at all but common courtesy.

Having said that, there is no word from Ahlusion directly about changes to any tobacco flavor except Smooth Criminal, and even there, it's claimed it's just a minor tweak to expedite steeping.

Personally i don't think this has anything to do with proposed fda regs and removing the NET component, which i don't really believe were there in any significant amount to begin with in the non-aromatics.

Edit : my last order from Ahl was in August, and i have not noticed a change to any of the juices that were repeats for me ( no tobacco's ordered in Aug ).

You have said it better than I can. I wasn't doubting Wlad's integrity either. His business practices though, yeah I'm having a problem with that.
