Sure hope I get a feedback coupon soon, too. :|

The painters began prepping and painting inside my house today. I'm having 6 rooms painted, and a jillion hideous old drapery arrangements replaced. I will be SO GLAD when this enormous undertaking is finally FINIS!!
That is a LOT of painting at one time. Do you have a "safe room" for sleeping, wehere you won't smell the paint so much?

[Giggle] Nope. I plan to sleep high on fumes all night! ;)

Actually, tonight should be the only bad night -- paint will be fresh in my master and the en suite. I could sleep in the guest room, but I want to disrupt our routine as little as possible for Max's sake. I will keep a close eye on him, though, to make sure he doesn't feel sick. (He will probably move into the guest bedroom anyway, which is at the other end of the house.)

5:00pm Update: There are no fumes at all in my bedroom now! We shall retire as per our normal habits, safe and sound! :)

I have not received a feedback coupon in many months either, but I am not ready to place an order. I know what I "need", though ;)
I'm running short myself. Awaiting the possible weekend sale! Oh boy.. I'm waiting on a sale that could mean trouble for the rest of you. lololol[emoji12]

Hopefully it will be still on Thursday when I get paid. No rushing this time as I won't be completely out but,...I've found two Ahlusion juices that I had no idea as to the extreme changes steeping makes in them. Pineapple Cream and Lime Cream. I intend to get enough of those two to always have a one month old bottle on hand at time of order.
I'm sure there's more that benefit from a months steep but those two really pop at one month.

All of AHL are better at 6 weeks or so. They get thicker and richer and more flavorful.

I don't know if I (and especially my coils) like it to get thicker. The rest sound delish!
I don't think you have to worry much about the viscosity as your VG ratio stays the same no matter the steep time. I'm pretty sure Chanel means that they taste richer and thicker flavor wise. If that makes any sense?!? lol [emoji13]

Latex paint? Not near the fumes of oil based. Ya can't beat the facelift a new coat of paint does on rooms.

Not just new pant, but a new color! My bedroom & bath are now a gorgeous satin medium-toned Williamsburg Blue (Sherwin-Wms' "Aleutian"), which makes both rooms deeply restful. (Yes, they are big enough that that much color does not make them appear smaller). The wood trim is all a crisp, semi-gloss white. Alas, some of that trim has to be oil-based, because there is already oil-based paint on it; but that stuff (closet doors) is going to be removed, taken to the painters' shop, and painted there, so i will neither have to endure the stink nor empty my closets! :headbang:

The other rooms are all getting a face lift in a soft, beautiful light neutral gray (S-W's "Lazy Gray"), again with crisp white wood trim everywhere. :) (No more "Florida yellow" -- shudder -- although for a pale buttery shade, it could have been worse! God knows I've seen worse down here in the Tropics!)

Yeah, we need to paint our bedroom soon. We got new furniture a YEAR and more ago, and I'm even making a new quilt, so we're way behind. Eleanor, you're getting me motivated.

Good! Need some more motivation? Start looking at paint colors online, then find a great professional on Angie's List like I did! :sneaky::w00t:

Sounds like you're been busy as well El. Almost like having a new house with all the painting you're doing. Thank goodness none of the rooms in this place needs painting. I probably wouldn't have taken it if that was the case! [emoji1]

Oooohhh, that sounds beautiful! It kind-of motivates me, as well. But we've had so many projects in our house since we bought it a little over five years ago, that painting the bedrooms is still way down the list. They do need it, and recarpeting as well, but I think that's going to have to come in after a kitchen remodel. When we bought the house, there were enough positives (amazing view of the Bay and Mt. Diablo, and a wine cellar) that we were willing to overlook the things that need updating, which are many. Since I'm a teacher, I really only have summers that I have any excess bandwidth to do any improvements. The first couple of summers, we mostly focused on outside stuff, like replacing the front decking that was falling in, replacing the (whole f***ing) driveway and infrastructure, since it's actually a bridge over a spider-infested dry-rot factory. We really do live on a steep hill, hence the view. We've also had to do extensive terracing to keep the hillside from slowly, slowly working its way toward flat land. Entropy's a b*tch. I won't go into all the rest, but I love the feeling of a home improvement job done. Last year, we got new lighting (and a ceiling fan, although I didn't repaint the spackle holes until this summer, and it turns out the paint doesn't actually match) and a new bed. That bed is so comfy, I slept right through the first earthquake we had after we got it. Funny thing is, we had house guests that weekend, and they did not. I woke up the next morning and was like, "What? What happened?" I can hardly wait until I get to pick out paint and carpeting colors for the bedrooms! I'm thinking three years, max...

@EleanorR , enjoy it! Home improvements are the best!!!

I married my husband six years ago. Since then, we've basically redone most of the house --he was basically living here like a kid in his parents' basement...not even a kitchen table. And talk about Florida? The main areas of the house were all this lurid peachy-pink. It's now a very pale yellow that looks like sunlight hitting a white wall. The bedrooms are all that remain to be painted. And he is now a decorating snob! Most of our new stuff is from Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel.
But my true love is the kitchen. The walls are Behr Corn Silk Green and we have black granite countertops. The floor is white tile and the appliances white as well. It's gorgeous.

Oh you folks are killing me with the renovations. I have several to do. retaining wall in back by pool needs to replaced with brick. Old ceramic tile inside torn up and replaced with...something else, maybe wood, maybe slate. Can't decide so I do nothing. Hate renovations, hate trying to find reputable people, hate strangers in my home. I repainted myself two years ago. Lots of golds and taupe's. Need to have ceilings painted though. Need new couches but do not want to buy until I do floors. Unless the right reputable people fall in my lap I am in no hurry to do any of it. Maybe the wall in the back since it is currently holding back dirt with some rotting railroad timbers. I get angst just thinking about tearing up the floors and the mess that will come with that.
