Alien-Mode Strength: Other Mods Like It?

Recently bought an Alien 220w and in playing around with the settings I discovered the Mode Setting for Watts. I really like this feature. My main tanks are the Innokin Axiom (4 of them) and I will run them 16-32 watts, depending on the juice and if I'm using a drip tip or not (almost tootie puffing to more clouds) and using this feature this feature stops/vastly reducing the "popping" than can happen at higher wattage versus using normal or high maintaining flavor while increasing clouds (which I will do at home). It has also been more positive in my Clieto 120 tank.

I was wondering if there were other mods that also have this feature. I am looking to pick up a backup mod in the next couple of months (my old Innokin MVP3 Pro is my current backup) am only really looking at two battery mods (have 4 paired batteries in rotation right now). I have a few mods I'm looking at but don't know if they have this feature.

I really liked that feature as well. You can choose soft, medium, or hard strength. I miss that feature with my ipv 8. As far as I know, I haven't seen another mod with that specific feature. However ive noticed myself that you can achieve just about the same effect by either increasing or decreasing the wattage or tempature to your taste. Hope this helps.

The only one I have had was the Smok G-priv. It has MIN, SOFT, NORM, HARD, and MAX. Love that feature on my cheetah Alien. Wish my Predator had the same.

These are preset curves that vary the initial wattage to the coil when you fire the mod. For example, let's say you have wattage set to 60 - in hard mode, the mod will hit the coil in your tank at a higher wattage for a brief time then settle at 60 watts.

Another mod that does this is the Vaporesso Tarot mods (or any other mod with an Omni board). With the Omni board you can set up custom vaping curves that allow you select exactly how much wattage your coil receives for the first five seconds of your vape, in 1/2-second intervals.

With the Tarot mod, you would go into the Custom Curve of Wattage (CCW) mode and set the wattage you want for each interval, to mimic the Alien "Hard" setting, like this (these are wattage settings, each setting lasts for 0.5-seconds):

With the above curve the mod would fire at 40W (hard) then taper off over the next 5 seconds to 30 and then stay at 30 until the mod times out.

It's pretty simple to set up, no computer needed - you do it right on the mod.

Edited to add that you can also do Custom Curve of Temperature (CCT) in temperature control on the Tarot mods.

You can also set up preheat on Wismec boards as well. It is a good feature, and can mimic the preheat in TC some mods allow to be adjusted.

My old SMOK Kooper 200w has multiple ramp-up adjustment settings for firing the atty (Min, Soft, Normal, Hard).

Additionally, iJoy RDTA Box mod has similar options to Kooper-200, but also allows user to custom program the ramp-up curves (really nice programmability).

Joyetech Cuboid has Pre-Heat programmability in their firmware upgrades (v3.04 and later) that provides similar results. User can set the Pre-heat above or below the firing-wattage to ramp-up or ramp-down into firing wattage as desired, and select how long to fire at pre-heat wattage. Nice feature when running a lot of wire mass in builds (example: at wattage setting of 70w, Pre-heat to 100w for 0.5 seconds to get the coils up to temp quickly and reduce coil temp lag).

Various manufacturer provide differing options (part of knowing what you want, then researching options to meet your needs & wishes).

Thanks for all the feedback, gives me some mods to look at. Nothing against the Alien, I really like it and wouldn't have a problem getting another one but also like variety and trying new things.
