Alien wire help (stretch)

ok so I figured out that the maceo shots of the wire stretch don’t do any justice you pretty much have to stretch it out so far that you’d think how in the heck could anybody clapton anything with that stretch so far. But I’ve tried stretching the whole thing at once which gets caught on everything I’ve tried the pinch and pull method mterk talks about but you have to have fingers of steel and concentration out of this world to pull that off so what I’ve been doing is stretching out sections of the wire at a time but even tho to my eye they look even I’m getting apparently microscopic variances in the twists ever so often. Anybody know of a better more efficient way to do it? Cause I can get great aliens out but I’d like for them to be more neat and uniform if you need any pics or examples let me know thanks

There's are good coil, wick, and wire subforums here under rebuildable atomizers. Lots of folks there with experience building complex coils there. My performance building Aliens have been useless unsatisfactory to date.

I can't even make a Clapton by hand and had to buy a Daedalus to wrap Claptons, it gives a perfect Clapton with not much time. I just watched a vid on making the Alien, you take off the Clapton stretch it out and use this to wind
again. The Daedalus manual says you can use it to make Alien coils

Well while the Daedalus is a very nice tool that I would love to have I’m specifically talking about better more efficient ways to stretch the coil that will actually keep it from messing up every five to 20 feet because if every stretch doesn’t fit just right it makes either a wavy pattern or and ugly jolt of metal sticks out or there’s 3 points to it.

You could try using a tensioner like this fly-fishing reel in SuperX's video:



Put your unstretched, de-cored wire on there and let it self-stretch to the proper tension as it unwinds. I don't know if it'll work, though, or if it would get caught up on itself, but it might be worth a try? (You'd want a lighter tension than he uses in the video, probably.)

I'm not sure why you are talking about 20 ft of wire 5 seems reasonable. To be sure we understand each other the Alien is to have a wavy look I believe this puts more wire on the outer surface. Here is a link

This person mentions it is a difficult build, you've got to get a feel for it. He has some tips in there that may help.

Carl I’m talking about stretching the clapton after it’s decored. An alien wire is decoring a clapton stretching it out (the clapton decore) than claptoning the stretched wire backwards over three of the same gauge of wire. When you stretch that wire out it can get pretty long and I’ll have to check out that fly wheel that just might be crazy enough to work

I realized that, the vid started out with about a foot of the Clapton uncored, it's not shown how long the stretched version is. luck then keep trying.
