David, do you forsee any issues with using an ultrasonic cleaner to clean any rhodium or palladium plated parts? Or any other parts on the Simplicity or P+ line of PV's?
I've never used one, but my gut is don't use it on the precious metal platings, the rest of the parts though wouldn't be a problem.

Also, just a headsup, when double checking some Simplicities going out today I noticed the bottom post screws were loose, so double check when you get yours in (just hold the button firmly and put a flat screwdriver down through the top to tighten the screw).

Hmm, that means I can't drop in the top caps of my P+'s... Given that the main intended use of most ultrasonic cleaners is to clean precious jewelry, I was hoping it would be okay with an alcohol based cleaning solution. I will do some more research on the subject, thanks for the quick reply :)

Well this about sums it up :D

To clean and maintain fabulous look of your rhodium plated jewelry, don't use any chemicals on it. ... Don't even think about an ultrasonic cleaner and for the love of GOD don't use any abrasive of any type. ...

I just realized that my Simplicity has a rattle but I am absolutely fine with that since it gives the battery room to breathe, I found out cause my hand twitched (lawl)...This doesn't cause any misfires for me.
Are you sure it's not the aforementioned loose screw issue? Mine loosens up really easily and I have to tighten it at least once daily or I start getting that rattle too, and things go downhill from there.

Would a little loctite on those threads hurt anything?

Nope, it's not the screw...I will see if a second o-ring will help the rattle but not really an issue for me one bit.

EDIT: Yup, just needed a secondary o-ring and the rattle is gone but the battery still has room to breathe.

In the past on other mods, I have used the smallest little dab of superglue on the threads. Let it dry completely before screwing back in. This has provided just enough friction to keep the screw from unscrewing inadvertently, still allowing easy removal if needed... Do this at your own risk, YMMV, and all those other cliche disclamers :D
