When you press the button all the way (with a battery in), is there any gap at all between the top of the button and the bottom of the lock ring? If not, maybe you're just barely getting contact, causing an arc between the battery and button pin as it makes the circuit. That would explain the black marks and the weak vape.

Yes there is a bit of a gap when the button is pressed ( I had my gf just now take a pic from the shop of it)

If there is suppose to be no gap, how do I fix this? She has it with her right now at the shop

Nope, what you see is as it should be :) What I was getting at was that maybe there wasn't enough button travel to make good contact with the battery (ie - the button may have been bottoming out before it could reach the batt). Looking at that pic, that's definitely not your problem

Is the button's pin screwed in nice and tight? A loose pin can also cause weak hits

Also, have you emailed Dave, yet? He may have other suggestions we're not thinking of or may want to take a look at it, himself

Yes the pin is tight and I Emailed superT lasnight but I don't expect to hear anything from them until maybe Monday with it being the weekend and all...Are the bottom pins on the 14500's suppose to have any plating for enhanced power transfer or are they just raw stainless steel pins? Thanks for the help Killjoy

Old thread I know, blame google. :)

I've wanted a Super T 14500 mod since 2010 and now that I'm ready to pull the trigger it turns out they are 16mm. You can get away with a larger mod and smaller atty but the reverse is silly. Many 14500 atties are 17mm which means I'm limited. Love the clean classy look, build quality, and american made angle but just can't wrap my head around that 16mm limitation. Price is also quite attractive for it's high end nature. If I can find one second hand with this updated center pin for around $80 I'd be tempted and work around its size. There are great 16mm atties for sure so I could make it work and be happy enough for the price. Hoping someday Super T will do a 17mm version. Missed opportunity in my book. Then again, they are sold out and people rant and rave about how much they love theirs so what do I know?

I totally understand your size concerns. Even the P+ and 18xxx Simplicities run into this issue since many of the popular toppers are 22mm and the mods are 20mm. There are plenty of good options that fit these sizes of PV, though. In the case of the 14500: the Cyclone is a good dripper that fits it very well, there are a few 16mm genisis attys and the Kayfun 2.1 appears to be a good fit.

FWIW, I've had my Penelope on my 14500 and barely even notice the diameter difference, less than 1mm overhang is noticeable but not enough that it bothered me unless I was looking right at it :)

I think most of the time when I've used my 14500 I've actually gone old-school with a carto or standard atty. There are actually quite a few non-RBA toppers that fit it quite well, a couple models in the Aspire line of clearos are a good match, for example. In the price range of the Simplicity, there is a decent market for people who prefer these types of toppers. There is no lack of variety in personal preference in the vaping world ;-)

I've searched high and low for a quality topper for my 14500. I have not found anything that interests me more than the Sophia By Leo which I have two of. I was really close to buying a Yellowkiss Arrow 17, a Vicious Ant Cyclone, a Doc Dave Mini/Mini Micro Gen or a By Leo Dripper Spiral. Spheroids & Penelopes just don't interest me & neither do Genesis or straight up drippers. I am really interested in the Super-T Strata & have one ordered. (for the 18350 I ordered five weeks ago & still haven't received). The way the air inlets are machined (leak resistant) and the fact that it has a 1.5ml drip well really set it aside from other stuff out there.
I am really liking the Sophias though. I'm currently using Sophia w/ Long Upper Body in a Standard (35mm long) 19mm IBTanked and IMO it does not really look all that out of place on the 16mm PS 14500. I do have the 15mm IBTanked en route that should look better but the 19mm holds 1.5ml and the 15mm only holds .8ml. Either way I seriously dig the quality build, performance and the size and weight of my Super-T PS 14500! I'll post a few pics of my above described setup when I get a chance!

Well my only other mods are 18350s so that's all I have to compare it to. It is fantastic for about 20 vapes then takes a performance step down which lasts hours... probably a little over 1ml (100% organic palm VG). When the 14500s get to about 3.6v they pretty much completely stop producing. IMO the trade off between batt life and size is totally worth it though. Personally I'm only going for flavor so I still get that even when the vapor production peters out.

The small Aspire S BDC has made it's home on my 2 14500s. Almost perfect fit and looks pretty good. I use high nic juice so tank size and batt. life is not a problem. The 14500 seems to hit better than my 18350 and batts last nearly as long.

Wish that Super T would make a few 14250 mini mods to carry for times when size does matter. Perfect stealth size.

I will take a bigger battery mod every time.. For me its all about performance vs. size. Cant Kick a 14500 plus run times are dismal/ fast power drop off.
18490 in the minimum size for decent performance/run times. And if I am out for more than 4 hours then the 18650 is the only way to go...IMO :2c:

14250...? Now that would be small, but the mAh rating....that would be a disaster. Like vaping with a 10440..

I think they are around 300mAh. Not going to chain vape with it for sure. Some of us only get a few hits every few hours during the work day or now that they are banned in so many public places (in some states) it would be the perfect size for the stealth vaper looking for a well built mini mod.

Nothing wrong with a 10440 for stealth :)

I do have a 14250/CR2 mod but I don't use it much in that mode.
