Unfotunately some people lack courtesy. When I smoked cigarettes, I never threw tgem out the car window or smashed them on the ground. I didn't want to be the cause of bans. vaping is the same way. I ask before I do if there are non smokers around. I havent heard no but if I did I,d respect it. But that's just me.

I never throw my Vamo out the car window or smash it on the ground.

This.
If it bothers you, don't go there and let them know why.

As mentioned by multiple people, a Restaurant cannot issue fines as the sign says. If this is a local ordinance, you may have a drive to get out of it's range, as all other local eateries in the area are going to have the same policy.

I wonder if this is a Chilis policy, or a local ordinance?

I think this could be an ordinance since smoking has been banned in restaurants in Florida for about 20 years now I beleive. I have to agree how ridiculous it is though putting vaping in the same category as smoking.

On the up side, they have the good grace to post a sign. Which means I can have the good grace to read it before entering and decide if that's adequate.

Assuming no laws are applicable, they can't enforce their policy one foot off their own property, and I don't think the restaurant itself can impose a fine in any case (but the town could ticket you). So either there is a law, or somebody's seriously overstepping.

Yesterday I was thinking about it.

I was in a place where there were many people, 40 or so,I was behind everyone, the last, so I thought:

If 20 these people were smoking, you could only see the smoke:
If one of these people were using analog, how to know which?
(because the smell of the analog would be unbearable!)

So, I think that where the law forbids the analogic, the same should be applied to the e-cig.

Each one of us does not like certain things or behaviors of others and we want respect, then we must also respect people who do not like smoke, whether analogic or e-cig.

(Sorry my english....)

this was posted on a chilis door in bradenton FL. How can they try and pull this crap??

I see no problems with this, it is their business. I wouldn't eat at the establishment if they had a policy I did not agree with. I tend to vote with my feet. Their choice and mine as well.

First off, there is no such local vaping ban ordinance in Bradenton. How is Chili's gonna fine me? Serve me stale tortilla chips... again?

Next, that Chili's is on a shopping center parking lot; ergo, private.

They can tell you to leave, they reserve that right as the business owner. They can also have you removed from their business if they so choose. Again I would not eat there again, not that I eat there anyway they have crap food, crap prices and overpriced alcohol.

Then again, I would absolutely not force my habits, harmless or not on anyone in close quarters in public.

Just me and my 2 cents. I do however think it should be up to the business owner and not the Government to allow it or not.

Edit: they cannot issue a fine for something that is not ordinance.

A Business can Post a Sign like this if it wants. Nothing really all that Exciting about it.

But...

That does not mean that the Business Property Necessary Extends 50 Feet From the Sign. So there Ability to Ban e-Cigarette use Ends where their Property Ends.

As to Violators be Subject to a Fine? I don't know what e-Cigarette Regulations there are in Bradenton FL or the County that it is Inside.

But I do know that Chilis Doesn't have the Power to Enforce and Levy Fines. At least the Last Time I checked.

Lots of anti smokers complained to the city council about smokers at the entrance to our local Walmart. The council just passed a city ordinance restricting smoking within 30ft of the entrance. So far, ecigs are excluded. But the anti smokers don't like that exception to vapers and are still complaining. Topix has been on fire with people flaming each other about it.

at the start this type of thing annoyed me but after 7 months soild vapeing I dont care anymore and am happy enough to not use my mvp where smokeing is banned. its got to the point even in work I go outside like a smoker just for the fresh air and 5 mintue breaks that total up to at least half a hour lol. at least I can vape in the car and house with no worrys.:):):)

if its there policy kudo's to them.
at least they made the decision and not the guvment'.
also if it is there policy i will bet you it was because of one
or two ANTZ threw a royal fit.

Doesn't a Businesses Policies come down to One Basic Thing? What Makes the Business More Money.

If Chilies felt that it Could Make More Money by Allowing Vaping in it's Restaurants, wouldn't there be a Sign on the Door that said...

"Vaper's Welcome"

Blaming ANTZ's for All the Evils in the World seems Ubiquitous. But sometimes is it Just about Profit and Loss?

I've seen people vaping on public transport. With people around them complaining.

People like that are ruining it for people who want to and will abide by the rules.

Regardless, if it's private property they can do what they want. Each to their own.

It looks like smoking. The masses have been brainwashed. It will be very difficult to overcome 50 or so years of anti smoking propaganda.
We will be back in the closet. At least the closet won't smell.
