Its also called common sence....can't use vaping as a way to get around certain laws esp. now as things are hairy with vaping trying to be classified. I would hope all vapers would and want to leave a good taste in the mouth of non smokers and general public!

couldn't agree with you more gotta educate the ones who want to be educated.

Honestly....with sub-ohm vaping gaining a popularity, and more and more people cloud chasing and blowing HUGE plumes of vapor in public....it shouldn't surprise anyone one bit that more and more establishments are going to ban vaping.

I'm not against cloud chasing at all, but I'm also not against businesses choosing what they allow, or don't allow, on their own property.

Heck, if a business posts a sign saying "MUST WEAR BLUE SHIRTS ONLY", that is THEIR imperative...and there is nothing wrong with that, aside from the fact that it will obviously kill their business from lack of customers.

Vaping is relatively new (5 years, give or take), and it looks very similar to smoking, so it is understandable that establishments might not want people to vape in front of/in their stores. Add sub-ohm vaping and mods that look like bricks to the mix, and it just adds fuel to the fire.

I was at a bar recently, upstairs on the patio where people were using analogs, and the waitress came up and said "You're now allowed to use those in here" (referring to my Pure). I got a puzzled look on my face and she responded with "Because people can put {OTHER STUFF} in those". I can assure you this is 100% not {OTHER STUFF} - she said no big deal and let me use it without question. I can't believe we're at a point where you can smoke analogs but not vape. Ridiculous.

You should have asked her if she'd ever heard of {SOMETHING ELSE}. I bet more people burn {OTHER STUFF} in their combustible tobacco products on a single day then will ever do so with PV designed for vaporizing e-liquid.

I think a Reasonable person would Consider that if Chilies felt they could make More Money by Allowing Vaping inside their Restaurants, then they Would.

Maybe Chilies is Bending to the Will of ANTZ to help Wipe Out Vaping while cutting into their Profits?

Maybe? But then again, maybe Alien's abducted Flight 370?

Anything is Possible.

I think a reasonable person would look at the facts and figure the manager of this Chili's was either an ANTZ, knows some ANTZ, yes some people do give up profits for ideology.

Or just maybe they figure vaping will soon be included in the state ban so they'd save money by buying the dual purpose sign now.
The sign does mention an fine and we know that is impossible to do with vaping. (Unless you happen to be Duluth's ANTZ at the ALA and think you can send out letters threatening fines.)

...

Could Be.

But I just Don't See an ANTZ hiding around Every Corner. And I don't believe that they are Behind every Policy that a Vaper may Not Like.

I think Many times, Business Owners couldn't care less Either Way. They just do what they think will make them More Money in the Long Run.

Because that is what a Business Owner wants to do. Make More Money.

Exactly.
If the "within 50 feet of the entrance" is on their private property, they can prohibit it.
If the "within 50 feet of the entrance" is on public property, e.g. a public sidewalk, they have no jurisdiction over that public sidewalk. In that case, the government / city hall has jurisdiction over that public sidewalk.

I think Starbucks was once planning to prohibit smoking x feet from the entrance of their outlets - in Germany.
I'd like to see them try to forbid a legal activity happening on the public sidewalk of a sovereign country. A public sidewalk owned by that sovereign country and peopled by free citizens of that sovereign country :sneaky:

Not necessarily true. Business owners can be fined for not keeping their "front steps" clear of snow and ice even when the city owns it.

I doubt anyone could be prosecuted for vaping in front or heck smoking. They will be asked to move. If they don't.. then they could be prosecuted.

I have no problem at all with vaping being subject to the same restrictions as smoking, as far as public use goes. I know more than one person (including my wife) who have pretty severe allergic reactions to vape. We haven't determined if it's the pg, the vg, the flavorings... doesn't matter. I just keep it out of her face and am a little careful about how I vape in general around the house.

(and when I say severe, I don't mean flesh-eating severe; just sneezing and wheezing severe)

I'm happy that I can enjoy my fix without (hopefully) major health concerns, and without making my car, house and clothes smell like ashtrays.

I think those who think they're gonna be vaping away in (potentially) crowded public areas for much longer are kidding themselves.

I'd have no problem eating at that Chili's - I'm not engaged in a Holy War - except that I really don't like Chili's much.

yea what does it say after that? o yea thats right it says whats your opinion... not tell me what you think of my views just stop posting if you dont like the thread

In reality you asked "what do you think?" lol for the most part people understood your reasoning behind your post and have stuck to that line of thinking. However, asking what someone thinks is really opening up a door to endless neural pathways. Not everyone is going to tell you what they think of that ridiculous sign, some of them are just gonna tell you what they think.
