It was more that in my first year of vaping ive seen nothing but the same core sort of claims on like every release of a tank, and rarely seen them match the hype. then specifically in this thread is the obvious "new member" doing pr in the thread. I thought the thread needed some colour and i like very much the idea of ruining the "new member"'s pr roll....

Disley wants one, he likes his gear and new things, has the single biggest collection of Lemo 1's and 2's you'll find anywhere. Of course i told him what i found....

You're too cynical, I'm getting one, and you won't talk me out of it.
Because most things don't live up to their hype, the Altus could be the exception.

Yeah, all the ceramic coils were a debacle. Although, Vapeston Ceramikas are quite okay for high wattage vape, but that's it.

I've found Altus tank by Guo interesting because they claim this:

Using a cutting-edge silicon valley material that was developed over two years, this tank has a CVU chip, or center vaping unit, that has been granted over a dozen patents in the United States and lasts for years

I'm not exactly sure what kind of material it is, but is sounds pretty novel. Anyway, we'll have to wait and see if any of their claims are true. But I like it, because if there's a less hassle and better quality to it, it could be the next right step for vaping (other than some crazy fused clapton alien coil builds, etc.).

Also, have anyone noticed from the photos that the cotton is sticking out of the "coil" area? It looks like it's just wrapped in cotton square, which is protruding out to the tank.

in the video made by the inventor, it looks like he just primed the cotton wick and began vaping, similar to dripping. Obviously this is a tank that holds a certain amount (unkown?) of liquid. I kept anticipating him to show if it's a top or bottom fill, but I never saw that. Probably, not essential info, just something I'd like to know. I've seen this quoted as low as $104 on a distributor site. But like most, too many unanswered questions and no testing on the influence of ceramic if it is a component. Actually no scientific testing at overall at t
