The tanks I'm talking about are carto tanks, mostly the DCTanks. I cut the tank tube down so a regular sized Boge carto will fit. I use 3.0 cartos on a VV mod, but on an ego or epower, you'd want to use lr cartos in the tank. It might be a little top heavy on your pv's, but you can see the juice level. Obviously, I love my tanks. There are other tanks options, but I do not use anything else, so I really can't comment from experience.

I mainly use only DCTs just due to their price. If I lose one I'm not out that much. I usually don't use dual coil cartos though. I typically use 3 ohm single coil DCT replacement cartos.

Sorry this is an off topic question but please share how you cut the tank tube down!

I've got one MAP and 6 Smoktech DCT's. Four are in use on different PV's on any one day. I cut one down to use regular cartos with a pipe cutter and a hacksaw 'cuz the cutter didn't go all the way through. Got these single coil XL cartos in vapemail today so I'm hoping they work out good and I don't have to cut down any more tanks. So far they're great.

BOGE LOW RESISTANCE (2.0 ohm) 510 XL CARTOMIZERS

BOGE STANDARD RESISTANCE (2.9 ohm) 510 XL CARTOMIZERS

2.0 ohm on my 5 volt equipment = wonderful!

Oh good! I just ordered these today but in 3.0ohms :)
I wish I had a pipe cutter. I hate the cartos I'm using right now but they are the only ones that fit.

I don't think it's off topic at all. It has to do with tanks, right? First, mark the tube with a sharpie at the point where you want to cut it. Put a dowel(whatever you can find) inside the tube. This will prevent the tube from collapsing due to the pressure of the cutter. Make sure that is close to the id of the tube.

Use a tube cutter, inexpensive at any hardware store. Place your tube in the cutter and line up the cutting wheel with the mark you made. Carefully turn the tube and dowel while increasing the pressure of cutting blade in the tube cutter by turning the knob. Repeat until it is cut through. Just go slowly and make sure you are getting a straight cut as you turn it. I was afraid to try this because it sounded like I would need some special skills and tools, but it's not hard at all. :)

Will this work on a Smoktech DC 510 tank?

It works fine on at least the smoktech polypropylene dct. I cut one down for a giveaway, piece of cake.
Oh good I'm so excited! I can't stand the cartos I'm using now

This really IS a learning experience for you isn't it keekers!

A dowel is normally a piece of wood. It's what used to hold drawers together...
For this purpose, I'm guessing it would have to be about the same size as the inside of the tubing.

You're learning tube cutting 101....I'm learning carto punching 101. Didn't know we were back in school! Did you?? lol!

A dowel is something round and long, and it can be anything that is almost the same diameter of the inside of the tube. There are wood dowel or maybe objects found around the house. I use a socket that goes to my hubby's socket set because it's just the right size. You will not be successful cutting it without something inside to keep it from getting squished from the pressure of the cutter.

I have not used that particular type of cutter, but I did ruin some tubing while I was getting the hang of it. If it's not working for you, perhaps you could return it and get a different kind. This is the type I use. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...3&langId=-1&keyword=tube+cutter&storeId=10051

And go very slowly...

Not crazy about tanks, but i really wanna join the club. Just got my first VV device(ego twist) It runs 3.3-4.8 V. I always use a 65/35 PG/VG mix. What kind of pre punched carto wil make me love my smoktech tank? Because i really hate it now:)

edit: The 3.0 ohm single coil with 1 or 3 holes i think? (after research)
