Am I the only one getting burned out? Why can't this be easier for me?!?

Hi MrsP0721. As others have said: it's still early days. 37 days may seem an eternity when making such an important change in our lives. It's the double novelty: adjusting to vaping and adjusting to not smoking. It is very normal to feel vulnerable (and ......) at times. Many others on this forum have been through it. Months ahead you'll be surprised at how much you achieved. You already have reasons to be proud of yourself. Keep well and all the best!

I guess it depends how much money you have to spend. Just saying, if your BROKE..... Your set on mods for the next year so money will come back to you.

Sounds like you've got some vape tongue too. Unflavored nic base is good to vape for that till it passes. Gives your taste buds a break. Lemon lime things (Sierra mist or bite a lemon wedge) help as well as spicy hot foods. Of course add more water to your day. If you have a dry mouth a lot, pg may be too drying for you. I use 100vg. Just trying to help you out mrsp hope I didn't come off wrong.

Every device will have issues you just have to give it some time to figure it out. Everything you need to know can be found on ecf.. There is a light at the end Of the tunnel :)

I've launched the odd clearo at a wall when i've been tinkering and oop, glue broke round the bottom. Fit of rage, throw at wall, suddenly feel better :) The thing with Vaping is because there's so many different combinations of batteries/clearos/rbas/glassos it can take a long time to find a working combination, bad luck does play a part unfortunately.

If the fiddly side of it is getting to you get yourself something like an iClear30 or a 30s, i know you said top coils where a bit blah but seriously, grab one and try it (if you haven't already, pressed for time only read 4 pages), nice and simple :) really good vape too.
Stay strong and stay off the damned stinkies whatever you do :D

Sorry to hear the difficulties you are having. We have all been there and are here to help! There seems to be a lot of frustration that may be compounding your frustrations. Learn to not take things so seriously. I know it is hard to do when the proverbial tornado is whirling around but you have to take care of yourself sometimes too. I had a bout with frustration when trying new toppers in the beginning. My first tank was an EVOD and it was almost bulletproof. It was also inexpensive to maintain. I bought dual coils, top coils, atomizers, whatever I could think of and just got bored and frustrated. I still have them all, some work, some don't, but I still use the EVOD. It still works, doesn't leak, doesn't gurgle and just plain works every time. Sometimes simplicity overrules popular.

I think I've about decided to just take a break from those flavors that aren't tasting right and just use my other flavors. As far as the devices, you didn't come off wrong. I have had a lot in a short time, I had the Ego Twists like most, but gave them to my husband when he started vaping, we each have an Itaste VV V3 and I have my Sigeleis, I had 2 and had no intention of buying more anytime soon, but found one for sell here at a really great price so I 'had to have it' lol. But all of the items I bought for vaping were paid for with my taxes, so yes, I'm broke, but I didn't go broke buying them. I knew I would spend a lot of money getting my mods because I knew if I didn't at that time, I wouldn't have the money again for a year! I probably wouldn't have made it a year on an Ego Twist lol. If you're counting the number of devices, my husband has just as many, his just happen to be 3 Ego Twists and 1 VV and mine are 3 Sigeleis and 1 VV. My mom has 4 as well, 2 V2's and 2 Esmarts, but still smokes a pack a day! Ugh!

I have an iclear 30S, it's very masculine lol. I have quite a bit of iclear 16's as well because they came in a itaste VV V3 kit I bought from FastTech and that's what my husband uses (although I've made the mistake recently of giving him a carto tank and now he likes those , means more work for me lol) so I do have those to fall back on and I should, they're not terrible by any means, I just tend to use them and think 'man, this would taste so much better in a carto' lol.

Sorry to hear the difficulties you are having. We have all been there and are here to help! There seems to be a lot of frustration that may be compounding your frustrations. You're right, I tend to let my OCD take over when it comes to my tanks, but I really do need to learn how to not NEED to fix it all as soon as the issue comes up! I need to learn to just let myself 'fail' so to speak and be ok with it. I really think that's a lot of my problem, I have 'father issues' lol and the need to be perfect (or have things be perfect, I'm nowhere NEAR perfect!) at all times is a huge problem for me. When things go wrong I immediately feel "I have to fix this NOW" and I'm quickly learning that with vaping, I can't do it all!

Oh and one more thing, cigs are NOT an option for me anymore. I REFUSE to let myself go back to that, even if I have to vape the rest of my life! I have 3 kids that I did this for and I've tried for FAR too long to get off of them to let myself fall back into that habit just b/c it's 'easy'. Not to mention my OCD wouldn't allow it lol. I am my own worst critic/enemy, if I do something wrong I beat myself up about it for so long, smoking wouldn't be worth it lol. So as frustrated as I am, I do know/understand how much better this is for not only me, but for my family. I've found myself getting on to my mother lol, she's come around me with a cig and I'm like 'you need to go somewhere, that crap STINKS!' Maybe that's why I haven't been having cravings for them, b/c I HATE the thought of doing that again! "Mind over matter?"

My wife would be burnt out too... If I didn't fix all her stuff for her!
Like you, she likes carto tanks, but I generally force BCC's on her because that is what I like (I do setup her favorite in a UDCT...).
Like you, she has spine fractures and Fibro and a few other issues (and just a few years older than you..).

Yes, even she gets frustrated with vaping and if it weren't for the fact that she can have something tasty, she'd say "Stuff it!" and go back to smoking.

Good thing I'm around to keep her happy!

lol, yes it is a good thing you're around! I'm sorry she has to deal with all that mess, it's SO hard when every single day is so much of the same, aches and PAIN! I hope she is doing ok with it, I know it has done a number on me mentally! It's been almost 6 years since I started having problems, 3 years since my Fibro Dx and 2 since my spinal fractures came to light and I still have times where I am so angry.

Anyway, I'm you lol, I have to set everything up, fill/refill, ect. for everyone here, myself, my husband and my mother and they don't seem to even WANT to learn or try! My mom's got the easiest set up of anyone and she still says 'Idk how to do it'... I'm thinking 'UNSCREW THE FRIGGIN TOP, POUR THE JUICE IN, SCREW THE TOP ON!!!' it's REALLY not difficult, but geez! Then she comes up to me with a dang cig anyway lol.

Excellent :D i just had lunch outside for a change today, was sat down munching away and out of nowhere; a bunch of stinkies with their stinkies, put me right off my Steak Pastry :( The 30s is a damned fine clearomiser, the flavours are slightly better off the Cartos but for sheer reliability it's a 30s for me every time :D

Ha inadvertently were a lot a like when it comes to things have to be perfect and being slightly OCD .. Glad I'm not the only one. Just focus on what you like best and you'll perfect it. It takes a couple months.. For sure.

+1 on evods, always worked well and cheap. Search the forum for you carto tank issues and you'll find answers. :$

( for the future I also hear the aspire nautilus is on of the best Replaceable coil tanks.)

I know what you mean! It's crazy to think 'I smelled like that!' gross! lol The 30s does taste much better than any other clearo I've tried, it's the manly-ness of it that throws me off, I should have gotten one in pink (which I think is actually red lol) or purple to make me feel like a chic lol.

Yea, I think you're right on that one! I do need to just take some time out (when I'm feeling up to it) and just tinker with them, I JUST started using a different filling method b/c the way I was doing it was a MESS (but it's how the guys at my local shop 'swear it's the best way')! I do need to 1) stop thinking 'oh I know how to do this' and 2) just spend time playing with them, LEARNING about them. It took a month just to figure out what kind I like (2ohm single coil w/2 holes, 3 if it's a thicker juice).

lmao, yep, I just keep my mouth shut! It does make me feel smart lol. Sometimes I feel like I don't contribute much b/c of my 'issues', but 'I know more about this than you do!' lol. Both of their set ups are pretty easy, my husband has 2 out of 4 cartos now so that's a little more work, but for the most part they both use top coil tanks so it's pretty simple stuff, I just wish they'd at least TRY to figure it out lol. It's not rocket science... Actually, I think I've told them both that in moments of frustration, 'Really! this isn't rocket science!!!' lol.

Oh sounds like its could be hard to focus on it when your dealing with everyone else shtuff. Your husband should be more than capable of taking care of his own......

Do it your way! I find things people say is "the best way" to be complete fails a lot of times. I, probably like you, can come up with a better way. They were likely following the herd on that one.

Just a quick question. Where did it come up that I have 7 devices? Or that I didn't like my mods, or that I have Protanks or I'm getting burnt tastes? I'm just curious I promise.

The problem I've been having has to do with my carto tanks, not my mods and I don't have Protanks (anymore). I love my mods, I just want things to be easier, I know pretty much ALL of my issues revolve around my carto tanks and  user error.

It's been GREAT to hear I'm not alone though! It's really nice to know that when I'm beating myself up or frustrated beyond words, I'm not the only one lol. I guess I still have a lot to learn!

I just discovered the wonder that is cartomizer yesterday!! I'm in LOVE!! Never tried a carto-tank (yet) but I truly truly truly love this LR carto a friend PIF'ed to me yesterday. Gotta get some plastic drip tips though, the aluminum is too hot (I go from not wanting ANY throat hit first thing in the morning, to wanting a throat BONFIRE later in the day! :D so that kind of heat is NOT kind to my lips!).

As for that other debate... I just vacated for the rest of yesterday. I'm here to talk VAPING!! And why it's a pain and why it's awesome and how to put up with it just so we can stay off the stinkarettes without wanting to kill ourselves or anyone else! :thumb: When my husband pointed out that I seemed to vape "continuously", I gave him a taste of what it would be like without it: "YOU WANT ME TO GO BACK TO CIGARETTES?!?!?!?" at approx 110 dB. :D He shut up QUICK. And just about anything I want to buy for it: "sure, honey." Of course I haven't shown him any catalog entries for Provaris yet... hehehehehe

You just click the little quote sign at the bottom right next to "Reply with Quote" for every post you want to include. When you get to the end and you're ready to respond, click "Reply to Thread" on the left.

All the posts you want to quote will be included in the white box.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I could NOT figure that out, when everytime I clicked the "multi-quote" button it just gave me a plus sign! so I just do it the hard way... scroll back up and cntrl-C!

Geez, I feel positively deprived. I have ONE battery, 2 T3S and an ARO pyrex (and one working coil between the 3 of them so I guess I have to slap up some courage and get those others dry-burned), and I still have my eRoll, which at this point is just for those times when I *need* to feel something like a cigarette in my hand. In my T3S tanks, I keep one for my 8mg daytime juice, and one for my 6mg night time juice -- a clear tank for day, and a "smoke" tank for evening, so I can tell which is which!! :D

However, when I get that $100 from my mom, and the fed refund in May, this deprivation will change... MUST BUY CARTOMIZERS!!! ;)

My suggestion would be to cover the Iclear30S with pretty tape...I used hologram tape from the dollar store 5 small rolls of different colors and just cut "windows" like evods have to see juice levels....My daughter used fancy duct tape on hers
The coils are also very long lasting if you rinse and vodka soak after each tank

Since there are some carto users here... is there any alternative to grain alcohol for cleaning them? I'm a recovering alkie, no everclear or vodka in my house and never will be, but obviously at some point I'll need to clean this carto, and others I'll be getting. What about boiling them?
