Totally stumbled on this on a completely different search."bobas with pg" Don't ask me how this is like the third result.

Anyway maybe I'm regurgitating already tried ideas. I couldn't stand the stock heads of the ProTank and immediately rebuilt with my hemp twine. I love my EVODs. BigScreenD suggested rebuilding the ProTank head with the EVOD gasket.

Pg 2
It's slightly wider than the ProTank gasket. Restricts airflow that tiny bit. I love my ProTank now. I would have been giving it poor reviews if I didn't know how to rebuild.

To the OP I have a solution I think might help you. I ordered two protanks one came with a battery collar that had 4 slots cut into it like a cross. the other protank came with a battery collar that was flat on top with no cutouts. The second one with no cutouts had way less of an airy draw. I think some people call them beauty rings but anyways if your protank came with a beauty ring that has cutout try replacing it with one that does not.

That is of course if you are using an ego style battery otherwise this would not apply. I actually like the airy draw quite a bit but thought I might be able to help.

Could you please tell me exactly what diameter hemp wick is needed to slide in anew wick into the protank head?

I can't remember where I read it ... could be on here somewhere or on my vaper's group on Facebook, but someone told me that using EVOD heads on the Protank instead of its own heads would help the airy draw. It really does! I ordered EVOD heads when I ordered the Protank and compared the taste/draw using both. It was a big difference to me! (At least using the juice I had in it which was Key Lime Pie from VapeDudes.) If you haven't tried that yet, give it a go and see if it works for you too. I will only be using EVOD heads in mine from this point out.

This is why I haven't ordered any protank heads only plan on using evods with it.

You rock Lisa for confirming this :)

I know things in this arena can be subjective, but I think you'll be pleased.

When I finish my tank when I get home I'm going to put an evod head in to try it and see the difference :)

Hey to anyone of you who own a Zenisis is the draw as airy as a stock Protank or worse?

I was looking at two of the ProTanks I have and the battery end on one only has two holes and the other has three.

I preordered from Kanger and those were the first produced and had three holes, the one I recently purchased from MVS (because the slow boat from China was way too slow) only has two holes. I had been using these along with a DrunkTank on a Provari, a Vamo and a Sigelei Zmax and noticed a difference but at the time didn't know exactly what it was.

I definately prefer only two holes compared to three - so I might have to try some of that sculpty clay idea on the originals from Kanger. The DrunkTank also only has two holes and I prefer the draw from it over the ProTanks, but with a little tinkering, I am sure I can make them right also. I do like them though, I also liked the T3's but had to plug one hole in them also.

There are technically 4 (!!!) air inlets, Ocelot. Nice that they are there for flush-mount devices, but I don't need all that air! FDA compliant food-grade silicone putty works nicely:

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

Fixed that draw right on up! Ended up plugging half of the second channel too. Draw is super tight, probably a little TOO tight, haven't decided yet. I'll probably open up one of those channels tomorrow. Tonight I'm having too much fun producing some ridiculously massive mushroom clouds.

time2quit, I use Aunt Lydia's #10 natural bamboo crochet thread. You can pick it up at Michael's, or maybe even Wal-Mart. Other craft stores might have it as well. Boil thrice to get rid of any impurities and fluff the bamboo, and it's ready for use. Lifetime supply costs around 3 bucks lol...

Funny how I used to dread going to Michael's with my gf, but since I've been vaping it seems I'm there once a week!

Seriously- Thanks. I put my fingers in front of these channels today, and was trying to figure a way of making them flush. There is plenty enough gap between the tank and the connection on my Provari Mini to allow adequate air. I noticed an improvement with the draw, and decided to try to stuff gum wrappers in the channels (That didn't work too well). Was going to try tape, but it seems such a shame to ruin the looks of such a pretty device. Going to Michael's tomorrow for some Easy Mold Silicone Putty. I think I'll try plugging half of one air channel, and half of another one going in the opposite direction. Thanks for the idea, as I think this may be the solution to my problems.

Ok, this is one finicky piece of equipment. I didn't modify it at all, I just took it off, put in my new aga-t for awhile(which I love btw) and left it alone. Then I decided to give it another go and screwed it back on, but this time I didn't screw it on so tight, I had been screwing it on really tight because the first couple times I wasn't getting a good connection to my battery. The draw is still airy now but it's much closer to the T3 which I'm already used to. I'm still going to replace the wick with cotton soon and see how that changes it, but I'm not as disappointed ATM. I have no idea how not screwing it on as tight would produce a LESS airy draw, but I'm not complaining.

Been trying out this protank for the last 3 days. For me the draw is way to airy , but after awhile i kinda got used to it. Bought it from discountvaper with 5 replacement heads at 2.5 ohms. Put the first coil in (2.5) and was impressed with the vapor, couldnt believe how much there was because I really couldn't feel because of the airy draw. But for me the flavor was very muted, and I was actually getting a little metallic , burnt taste as well ,not overpowering but noticeable, more so than the flavor of the juice ( fresh peaches 60/40 ) . Then I was getting more and more burnt taste. So I removed the 2 flavor wicks thinking the coil wasn't getting enough juice. That solved the burnt taste but the vapor production diminished, but still not to bad. Well today out of nowhere my coil popped , I'm using it on a Zmax at 4.2 volts. So I replaced with another 2.5 ohm replacement head. All was good for about 2 hours and boom , my coil popped. I was like .... So I replaced again with now my 3rd 2.5 head and about 2 hours later guess what ! my coil popped. Well eventually , at first It was like fizziling before it fire good, so i had zmax set to read ohms and it was jumping all over 3.6,3.8,2.2,2.4,2.6,9.9 then eventually 9.9 and done. Another thing I found weird and scary was on my second head before it popped I got a sticking your tongue on a 9v battery sensation when my mouth touched the tip of tank. At first I thought it was in my head because it went away, but then it did it again , then the coil popped. It also did it on my 3rd coil right before it started acting up. So I don't know if somehow the coil was grounding out to the tank or what. I'm really not liking this thing right now so any help, advice, or someone that would like a slightly used protank with now 4 replacement heads , would be apperciated.

It sounds like the wire coil legs weren't trimmed close enough to the head. If they stick out and make contact with the metal mod body, it'll short.

Maybe try to trim them closer to the head.
