I'm not worried about it. I've never thought that vaping is 100% completely safe. I'm not even sure it's safer than smoking. However, I feel better, smell better and I'm happier. That's all the matters to me.

Same. :thumb:

Personally I kept smoking because my body is giving up on me no matter what I do so it was a petulant child's way of dealing with it by smoking. When I started vaping it was so yummy I couldn't face a cig. A lot of my friends started rattling off the bad press crazy and all I'd say is "GOOD!! I hope so, I'm kinda disappointed in myself that I gave up smoking as now I'll live to be 100+ and be completely unable to do anything...gimmie my nihilistic slow suicide!!!!"

But honestly it is so nice to have my lungs clear and not cough till I'm choking. Don't really care about possible harm as I'm screwed even if I did everything right. As I said to my doctor when she pressed me about quitting smoking, "I come from genetically long lived folks on both sides. By smoking I will only live to my mid 90's, if I quit I'll live 100+, how long do you want me trapped in a body that can do absolutely nothing???" My doc thought a moment then said, "Okay, you're right. You are so very healthy in every other way smoking was the only thing I had left to do anything about.... "

And then I upped and quit. Now she has nothing she can work on me about!!

Yeah I was waking up barely able to take a breath in the morning. Full of nasty phlegm all the time. Plus I'm sure I smelled like a dirty ashtray. Ugh. I would like to quit vaping altogether at some point, but I'm in no hurry especially since I haven't tried Clark's whole line of juice yet.

The difference is astounding to me. 10 days in - before, it was difficult to go jogging sometimes, because it would hurt my chest, I'd breathe and pant so damn hard. Believe it or not I smoked while hiking the past 3 summers - I worked on trails, hiking 1000 miles a summer. While smoking. I was in such good shape from the hiking that I didn't notice an effect, but after each winter of not being very active, it would be tough to get started each summer. Or tough to start jogging, period.

Now - 10 days in - each day I am jogging somewhere between 2-5 miles, sometimes without slowing down for a walk break once. I go trail running when I can. The other night was symbolic for me. Think it was on day 7 or 8 or something. I went up a mountain, 10.5 mile round trip, trail running the lower 3 miles each way (the flatter sections, rolling terrain). When it got steep I kept a fast pace. When I got to the summit, I basked in the breeze and the view, and thought - never once did my chest hurt from breathing. I caught my breathe quickly, busted out my MVP2 and Wakonda, and vaped, and asked the mountain to bless me and help me to never smoke again. I declared to the view and my home--the Adirondack Park--"I am not a smoker. I am a vaper."

Sometimes, while jogging with doggy, I slow down to a walk break and vape while I walk. Then I pick up jogging again with no effect on my ability to do so comfortably or sustainably.

Sometimes, I still cough up phlegm, but most of that has passed now. The cravings for cigs have been completely and totally replaced by the craving to vape. I have no interest in stopping vaping. I've always loved to smoke - the act of smoking always pulled me back when I'd stop for a few months. And each time I quit, for at least 2 weeks I'd be miserable, angry and grumpy, irritable as hell. Only on day and 2 were I mildly irritable from quitting by vaping. With vaping, I can continue to "smoke," with none of the things that actually concerned or bothered me about smoking.

If some things about vaping are unhealthy--fine by me. It's certainly healthier. I can be active as hell as if I didn't do anything at all. I don't have to worry about what the guests think I smell like (I'm an innkeeper, kind of important). I don't have to worry about Chrissy thinking I smell awful as she hates cig smoke - and in fact, she loves the smell of vape, and we vape together sometimes! Almost everything else I do in life is healthy. I'm a very active, very fit, vegetarian. So you could say I'm VV! Not variable voltage--Vegeterian Vaper ;) (hence I won't be ordering the Paste )

It's good to be concerned about what we put in our bodies and I think that's why most of us are here. It's good to pay attention to real research about vaping as it continues. But unless it's ever shown to be as harmful or more harmful than cigs--I will VAPE ON!
