Am I the only one that does not like DIY with Lorann Flavors?

Hello guys,

Me and my GF have tried about 5 from the 18 Lorann flavors that we got.

I mixed it with the Rich tobacco liquid from Intellicig that I did not like vaping as it is a kind of unflavored so it is perfect for mixing..

1. Coffee - I dont like it but it is the best out of the other 5, my lady likes it

2. Raspberry - no, mixed with cheesecake - Ok, for me, but still dont like vaping that...

3. Plain Cheesecake - no no no

4. Mint Chocolate chip - Oh my lord, it is terrible, I still have that taste in my mouth I dont even want to remember it...

5. Watermellon - hmm, tastes and smells like bubble gum, it is not bad, but I would not vape that on a regular basis as well..

13 more to go.... but in my experience up to now they all seem so sweet and I really hope I`ll like at least some of them

It will be a big problem if I dont as I`ve ordered 60 ml of Un-flavored juice an I wonder what I`m gonna do with it if I don`t mix it with the Loranns flavors...

Is it only me?

Bristow, Ok.
Any flavoring is awful unless it is mixed properly. You have to add glycerin to get the sweetness. The flavors are very concentrated and a little goes a long way. If it is just nasty tasting I think you probably put in too much flavoring. If it is blah it probably needs sweetening with VG.
Oops you said they were to sweet. Maybe it is just too strong then. I am just learning how to mix the flavors to get them usable. I like strong nicotine and that makes it even harder. There are a lot of great sounding recipes here but they are for lower nicotine juice than what I am using now.

Thanks about that,

What I have is Vegetable glycerine I think - there is no chance I can find PG locally here... (or at least I don`t know where to find it) , but the VG I got from the local pharmacy and the lady told me some people drink about 100 ml of that to get upset stomach.. it adds more vapor to the mixture but it kills the flavor....

So what is the deal

I have to use it 50/50 ?

I did not like using it with the pre-flavored liquids that I have (for example RY4, Marlboro, tobacco) because it was killing the flavor....

So I suppose I have to use

1 part flavorless luquid
1 part VG
a few drops of flavoring (using the Loranns Strenght-o-meter thread)

? Pls advise

p.s. I`m only using 18 mg liquid - Rich tobacco for now untill I get the unflavored (also 18 mg)

50/50 is way too strong. Try just a very few drops of flavor. You can always add more if needed but you can't take it out. Are you trying to lower the nicotine level?

I'd say you are not diluting them enough. Lorann's flavorings are highly concentrated. You can't use them in the same quantities as other liquids. I use 4 of the 5 you listed, and they taste great... not just to me, but to the many folks who have tried the juices I sell. Start of with no more than 10% Lorann's in any mixture, and then add a little bit at a time until you reach the flavor you like.

i'd really suggest ordering pg online, midwestvapor and liquidxpress are suppliers i'm pretty sure both have it in stock.

have you tried using the hack-o-matic to draw up your recipes? thats something thats really helped me make yummy batches w/ loranns.

for flavors of loranns i've tried: prailines n creme, marshmallow, cinnamon roll, champagne, blueberry, cheesecake, strawberry, bananas n creme, bavarian creme, cotton candy.

out of all those the only one i found inconsumable (because of the taste) was bavarian creme... it was like capital punishment for the taste buds.

my favorites out of all those listed would have to be a mix of blueberry and cheesecake, and i also enjoyed the banana creme.

the others were "ok", nothing to write home about but nothing yucky either.

taste is always subjective, and your mixing ratios play a big part in a batches success. don't give up just yet, try with some pg and the unflavored; something in the tobacco liquid youre using as a base might not be complimenting all the flavors (even if it usually seems flavorless).

i mean i wouldn't want to eat a tobacco cheesecake either, know what i mean?? lol

I think it is the VG that is making your recipe too sweet. VG already has a sweetness to it, and then you add in the Loranne's and you end up with a really sweet mix. Adding PG (propylene glycol) instead of the VG should fix this, it also doesn't cut the flavor quite as much as the VG does. PG is available, at least in the US, online from a vet supply place or any local pharmacy. I would ask your local pharmacy if they can order the PG for you, as it is not something they would keep in stock, but should be able to get. If we can get this in the US, I would think it would be even easier to get elsewhere!

I think you misunderstood me.

I only add a few drops of Lorann each time I try.

I used the Thread called Lorann strenght-o-meter but never count the drops..

Just if it says there it is "just right - use 15% - I try to use no more than that... but probably I have tried with too much flavoring..

On the other hand I have not tried using it with the VG that I have yet. I will try tomorrow as I am at work now. What I have tried is just add the flavoring to the Rich tobacco liquid - which is unflavored to me.. compared to the RY4 for example.

I will try to order PG online....

I have not used the hack-o-matic excel file yet...

I am not sure if I want to lower the nicotine level - probably yes, but have been vaping 18mg straight up to now (the main reason is because I did not like cutting it with VG due to the loss of flavor) I am not sure what nicotine level I need, but I think I`ll have to lower it a bit, I feel dizzy all day and the reason is probably nicotine level

Cheers

You may also be having problems using Ecopure Rich Tobacco as your base. I know you said you think "it is a kind of unflavored", it actually is a fairly caramelly taste.

Given that comment on the Rich Tobacco, may I ask, how long is it since you stopped smoking analogues? Is it possible that your sense of taste hasn't yet returned to normal?

EDIT: DOH! Just read your signature, so ignore that comment about your taste buds!

I guess it is normal to fail the first several times :D

I`m a kind of confused because it is actually a hard job to mix a good DIY... It is not as easy as I expected.

Will try more mixtures tomorrow but I`m still waiting for the Un-flavored liquid to arrive so I`ll try with the ones that I already dislike

For example I`ll try the following

1. 0.5 mil - Rich tobacco liquid
0.4 mil VG
0.1 mil Cheesecake/ or Watermellon / or coffee

I`ll let you know how it goes...hopefully I`ll be able to make it good

I've given up on LorAnns after ruining enough batches.

Ordered 36mg flavourless from JuicyLiquid and will cut that to 10mg. Bought non nic flavourings from liquid express and will add that to the mix. Hopefully this will result in a more satisfying vaping experience. BTW, Liquid Express ships non nic flavouring products to Canada. :D
