Ever accidentally lite a filter!?

Yes. Oh, Yuk! :p

But the dern things cost so much that I would cut off the burnt part of the filter and smoke the ciggie anyway. This was when I was rationing to cut back on how much I smoked, and would only take along the exact # of cigarettes I permitted myself for that day.

I used to hate it when someone wanted to bum one from me.

Excellent posts by Dr. Michael Siegel. I really do wish there was a way to get him on a prime-time news program and with enough time, not just a quicky 5-10 minute segment, but a whole thirty minutes to an hour. I truly believe this could get many people interested in this issue - especially when it is spelled out for people - this is a "PUBLIC HEALTH issue, not just a smokers' health issue. And the fact that government institutions which are supposedly acting on behalf of Public Health are NOT; and organizations which claim Public Health as their "mission" and who solicit funds from the general public supposedly to further that "mission" are, in fact, acting in ways in direct conflict with Public Health and in ways, as Dr. Sigel points out, that are unethical and damaging to Public Health.
