What i mean is, to qualify my comment. i was making it assuming all resistances being equal, i actually haddnt thought about the effect of higher ohm Duals. Though i think theres still provari issues there. Good food for thought there.
I guess my only point really being, happy as hell with Resurrectors. DCC might be better for me Might not. Cant say yet, as to be honest all the cartos ive had are Resurrectors. BUT what i can say, is the Odysseus will Make them all look like childs toys ( Opinion here, been looking for a good rebuild-able, Luckily i diddnt pull the trigger before hitting the GG Subform )
As far as the "Provari issue" goes, I really have no idea. I've seen people claiming that the higher ohms of the individual coils should mean they don't trip protection circuitry and I've seen people claiming that the low effective ohms means they will. I don't understand the "theory" of it to have a clue one way or the other what "should" happen--but I've seen people report practical experience both ways. The only thing I know for sure is they would work just as well as the 1.7's in the same application because for all practical purposes that's what they are.
I'm happy as a pig in 5h!+ with the DCC's. I was curious about the 1.7's because of all the hype. Now that I've had a chance to try one, my initial reaction is--nothing. They pretty much seem equal to me so far. I will be interested to see if there are any long-term differences, but at this point I don't see a reason to pick one over the other. There are fundamental differences in their construction, so the 'care and feeding' will be slightly different, but my prognosis at this point is:
If you're happy with 1.7's, stick with them. If you're happy with DCC's, stick with them. I have plenty of both at the moment, but when it comes time to reorder my choice will likely be based entirely on price and convenience--barring some possible long-term difference I haven't seen yet.
