Since it is my first post I guess I better say something about my self: Something ! There we got that over with anyway.:D

Ok ok, I am what you might call an "Old Timer" who is new to this thing called vaping. Been smoking since about the age of 14. Started out with Camels then switched to Winstons then to Luckys then finally to Salems. After the price went up a few years ago I started rolling my own filtered analogs saving myself a ton of money each month.

Saw these things in the news and places called Electric cigarettes and thought "Hmmmm" and let it go. One day while in a gas station here I saw the disposible E-cigs on sale, so I went ahead and bought one. Gasp - choke - cough. Well I kept puffing on it anyway between the real ones for the rest of the day thinking, I ain't gonna just chuck this sucker as much as it cost and all. So by the end of the second day I was able to inhale it, little at a time.

About a third of the third day my disposible e-cig that was supposed to equal 2 packs died and I knew I had smoked about 3 cigaretts worth out of it give or take, mostly give. I started doing some Google searches and things on these e-cigs and watched some You-tubes on them and scratched my head and other body parts thinking. So I happened to be in a drug store and saw one of those cheap e-cig kits thingys and bought one, and a 5 pack of cartomizers. I was able to cut real analogs back to about 10 a day the first couple of days. "Ok, Not too bad." I was a good Pack + a day smoker.

I spent a good amount of time on a couple of on-line stores and ordered a couple of good sized batteries and a Clearomizer and a bottle of Menthol E-juice. No real flavor to the juice so to speak of, but not bad either. Then I started watching You-tube about mixing your own juice and building Mods. etc. etc. etc.

All that was a couple of weeks ago, Still have the cheapo e-cig kit from the drug store and pick it up now and then, stayed with the bigger batteries and clearomizer mainly. But I did send off for a set of smaller 78 mm length batteries because they were on sale plus a regular tobacco flavor juice and a bottle of menthol juice, and a pack of blank cardos. I became a DIY mixer by going 50/50 on the regular and menthol, LOL. A little mild in the clearomizer but not bad in the cardomizers.

Real proud of myself right now, Today, was the first day without an analog.

The first part of your post was funny and the very last was fantastic! I tried a lot of everything. Check out the eRoll thread. I think you might like it. I have few devices but since November I'm still choosing my little eroll most the time. Congrats on one full day analogue free and best of health to you!

Hi Dave, and welcome. Great intro. I think you'll find there's quite a few of us old timers on here. I smoked for 35 years so I must be around the 50ish mark ;)

As long as you get the right gear for your needs and some juice you like you'll find giving up the cancer sticks a breeze. If you do get cravings, which is common in the first few weeks, just vape your way through them.

Grats and best wishes for your adventure into this wonderful new world.
