Dude, that metallic is sweet. That's funny, my kids think I'm a real manly man for having black and gray mods. It really pushed my manly status over the top when I got woodvils.

That red is not girly - more like a metallic candy apple red like vintage chevelles and guitars are often painted. Rock it like ya stole it bro.

I don't boil my sterile rolled cotton :)

Congrats Spoons. Beautiful. Glad you like it so far. I have tried cotton, but prefer silica. Have not boiled the cotton. Wonder if a wick damp with water will not be too hot for vaping? Yeah, you going to lose that one to HRH, better start looking at your next colour combo! Let us know how you like the vape with the RM2. Enjoy.

The beginning of a beautiful relationship...

Picked up a bag of organic cotton from the local cvs,
Waiting for my 28 gauge kanthal, which should be here by Friday!

I do have a question about the cotton, some people say boil it, some mentioned that they don't boil it. If I boil it, do I boil the whole bag at once? A few pieces, how do I store it after I boil it? Can I set the coil up while the cotton is still damp?

Anyway, I love this thing so far with the 357 on it.

2 other things:

1. My kid says I'm a girl for getting a mod with metallic paint...
2. My wife took a few pulls on this and loves it, hopefully I don't lose it to her..

Hi and congrats. The metallic red is awesome. I love mine :) As for the cotton being boiled, some do and some don't. I do not boil it.

I love my Reo! My wife definitely wants one, I am thinking Christmas is right around the corner. I never thought I'd say this, but I may put my provari up in the classifieds...

Here is the first coil I made, came in at 1.0Ω!
As you can see it's not the prettiest coil in the world, but it'b MY coil dammit!!!

Nothing at all wrong with that coil. Most important is that it vapes to your desire!

Nice looking coil! Is the vape as good (to you) as the 357? I used to use 357s all the time and I like the RM2 vape better than that, which is saying something. Just a "noticed this and thought I'd mention..." I use about half as much cotton per wick as you have in there, so if you have any trouble with the wick blocking the air hole or anything, remove some of the cotton. The cotton really wicks well, so it swells up a LOT when it's wet. When I put my cotton through the coil, I can move it pretty freely while it's dry. All you want it to do is swell up enough to touch all the coils all the time. Just some friendly meddling. :)

Congratulations on your REO....it looks amazing. And I have no doubt you will lose it soon to the wife.....no doubt at all. Are you already thinking about your next color combination? (Or is she?)

I boil my cotton. Whether you boil or not is based on whether you get that funky aftertaste or not.

I too use the cvs organics, I boiled the whole bag at once with 2-15min boils with a press and rinse after each boil.

Lay them out on some paper towels overnight and they should be dry in 24hrs.

Don't use cotton that is wet, it won't soak up the juice as well.

Very nice grand, I do like the metallic, it's purdy lol.

I may be nitpicking here but I might use a little less cotton, the pom poms look a little to big in the pic. When you have too much cotton, the juice tends to stay in the pom poms because there is not enough room in the coil for the cotton to expand and soak up juice. This took me awhile to figure out, and I still sometimes think I'm not using enough cotton when I rebuild but it ends up working well. Cotton plumps up alot.

I am always up for a bit of constructive advice, I removed the cap and was able to snip a good portion of the pom poms off, immediately getting a better vape! (thank you both for that)
I have not chosen my next color yet, and as for the wife I will probably be getting her a mini.

I may try to trade my provari straight up for my next Reo, if I can find someone willing to give one up that is...

Oh, and it is better than the .357, I will keep the 357 for emergency situations...

That will be a pretty hard trade. (Not saying it can't happen.) REO owners tend to NOT be interested in trading them for Provaris....know what I mean? You might do better with an outright sale....then buy you another REO with the proceeds. Just sayin'.....
