I don't stealth vape very much at all; but for some reason drawing the additional air in through the nose seems to work better than drawing in through your mouth.

Just sayin' :D

I just got back into town on a flight and the inhale in with the nose did work better in the airport. Not sure why it does but it did. Interesting.

i wanted to post this variation on the puck i thought this up while building my first VVmod:evil:, and in turn built this for a friend for a coupla $$ this is a 901/808 connector, but i usually always do 510's
all my bud has is 808 stuff:facepalm: so, :2cool:what he wants is what he gets:toast:

:vapor:
the cinnamon one is the 808 the top one is the VVmod

thanks tomcatt,:toast:

i think i may have started a small style trend here, the altoids mods are out there, but like youse said never a puck style,

i gave this one to my bud today, and he likes it, i told him ta put the carto condoms on a coupla cartos and see if theres enough room in there to fit a coupla spare cartos, since he uses 808/901 cartos and no tanks like me and the 510 and my FREE tank mod,

honestly i test vaped his box and i think the 510 vapes better, but it may be becuz thats what i daily use is 510, i like 510 dont know why,

HE immediately asked me for more room in the box, after i told him about the carto thing LOL i was like you need to buy some 18650 or 14500 batteries bud, i can do you up a 10ml bottle and enough room for cartos if you have the "good" batties

i like it, i think it would be more rugged than the plastic, and defiantly more pocket friendly

you see that VV monster? man thats my pride in joy at the moment, should sell it though its been throughly tested:vapor::vapor::laugh:

You guys inspired me to try my hand at mods. The puck directions were so good it was easy. When I saw the mod with the spray bottle I thought cool I want to try that. Sadly no bottles available locally, but while looking at Lowes I found a primer bulb for a lawnmower gas line and went Hmmm that might work. And it does. Changing flavors may take a while for the line to clear after plugging in the new bottle. Anyway pics are below.20110924_puck-side-action_0423.jpg20110924_side-puck_0442.jpg20110924_side-puck_0443.jpg20110924_side-puck_0444.jpg20110924_side-puck_0445.jpg Pump works great, about 6 drops per push. Now I just have to stalk the mailman until my 901 attys come in so I can try the vape part. I will let you know how it works. Thanks again for the great tutorial.

A three-cell LiFePO4 battery, I'm assuming? That's the only way I can see getting to 9v with li-ion. Plus it's the only "safe" li-ion out there. If that's the case, you're still going to have a lower energy density than conventional li-ions. But hey, since we're talking about Pucks, which use NiMH batteries, we've already accepted a lower energy density. It does sound like it would definitely shift it away from the whole "build it with local parts" vibe, though.

I recently found a Samsung cell manufacturer (re-brand) that makes a 9V Li-ion that does NOT explode!!

It has a very large capacity and a very high discharge rate for power-hungry applications.

And yes, you read that correctly....A LI-ION CELL!!

This is the inspiration for my Lightsabre mod... I am using 4 AAA batts for it. I can also put in another batt for 6v vaping if I wanted to (but I can't as the only atty I have is an LR).

Just a quick question; for those using 4 AAA batts, how much voltage are you guys getting with an atty attached? Just looking for an average figure...

I love to own a puck but I am not a modder. I saw this Double Capacity MintyBoost with 4-AA Battery Holder Modification but it only outputs 500ma . How easy to change it to 3A or 5A and what parts I need? Thanks

Checked out your links and it appears it would be easier to simply build a standard Puck than try and modify the "Minty Boost" to use 4 AA batteries AND then also change the amperage. A simple Puck is easy following the step by step instructions, and if you
run into any problems or questions JUST ASK. :) Lots of pucksters here that would be wiling to help.

The beauty of the Puck build is you don't have to be a modder with a large workshop, lots of tools, etc... to be able to build one.

The essential tools for me for building a mod are a drill, soldering iron, pliers and (sometimes) a screwdriver (for knocking out pieces from flashlights).

Right now I have 8 AAA's in rotation. I managed to get hold of a faster charger than what I had before (which took 20hrs to fully charge AAA's)... it's 500ma. So it's waaayyyy faster than before. I am a little concerned about the batteries getting hot, though.

I have the energizer "quick" charge charger. It takes about 15 minutes. The batteries do get "warm" but not hot, but it has a built-in fan for cooling. I've been using it for months now with no problems. The markings "look like" 18v and 4A (lol), but I measured it with the meter at 4.5v and 500mA.

An Altoids Puck may be in my future :)rolleyes:). That will be very simple: 4AAA box from RS, atty connector, and a switch. Connect positive wire to one side of the switch, connect other side of switch to center of atty connector. Connect negative wire to outside of atty connector. It's all in one 'box'. And you can stick an LED in there too if you want.

I have 16 AAA batts in rotation, and an 8 batt charger. In the morning pop in fresh set of batts and take the other set with me "just in case". While I'm at work for the day the other two sets are on the charger and I leave them there until the next morning.

I usually put the day's second set of batteries in my Puck after getting home from work. I don't think I've ever vaped the batts "dry" with my Pucks. I use clearomizers and when the batts drop to ~4V, I don't get the warm vape that I like.

Man, haven't been able to get up the gumption to actually mod lately; but I just noticed that the JB Weld I used to secure the atty connector in my Puck has cracked. My Cheapo Gummy Tank is tilted and looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa . I just gotta fix this tonight...although I could just use my touch switch Puck....or...nah, better fix it.
