Clearwater is about 10 minutes from us. So I'm definitly wanting to try to make it.

Okay, so today was the cutoff to get the special room rate, I decided to take the plunge and book the room. Guess what. No rooms left at the special room rate. They wanted $220 per night instead. Guess I won't be flying in from NS after all
There are tons of other hotels on Clearwater Beach that are all walking distance from the Holiday Inn.
Im staying at the Hilton at the other side of the 'island' and will be walking down Fri and Sat nights.

So far I believe I am still on for Vapestock. I will be driving there and not sure where I will be staying yet (money is wicked tight for me) but I WILL be there even if I have to sleep in my car LOL (or drive home and then back since it is only 2.5 hour drive)

Kitty, with gas at almost $4 a gallon, I'm sure you could find a place cheaper...besides I'm sure the hotel has some beach chairs..J/k!
if you have a vehicle, there are plenty of hotels in and around the clearwater/largo area which are within 10 or 15 minutes drive of the location which are a lot cheaper, all those beach hotels are jacked up in price for the tourists.
I'm moving down to St. Pete in the next few weeks, planning on attending. Hope to see y'all there! -Magnus

If you're really wanting to come and still don't have a place to stay, let me know.. I can ask my wife to let you stay in one of our spares. I'd offer myself but you're, umm, a woman.. and, err, the wife would, uhh, vaporize me if I didn't get her permission first. I remember just a few years ago being single and having a few dozen house crashers a year. How married life changes things.. -Magnus
