Thank you for taking the time and effort to build Steam Engine. I must say the mere act of using your site and playing around with the numbers has taught me an immense amount about Ohm's law, heat flux, battery drain, etc. I'm sure most will agree that the vaping community is much better off with Steam Engine than without it.![]()
I talked to a couple guys working that said learning ohms law was a waste of time to just use the calculator apps. Those apps build complacency and complacency is one of the most dangerous things in the world.
Calm downSorry but I call BS on that, if you weren't a vaper I highly doubt you would be researching the dangers of ecig batteries in subohm applications and warning others, or for that matter care if the media was reporting on it. Especially if you weren't warning people about the dangers of table saws.
Why would someone who doesn't use or have experience with a said object educate themselves about the dangers of it and make it a personal crusade to warn others and keep it out of the media's eye?
Haven't read it here but in a German forum.I didn't even see a post about it on here...
Haven't read the whole thread yet, but I wanted to say this anyway.
As many people these days can't do simple algebra, I'd rather they use the apps.
Calm down
I didn't say that those non vapers totally educate themselfes about every danger that comes up or could come up vaping or are researching it. I just said I was warned about the danger using e-cigs. Their knowledge is just based on a bunch of media BS.
It's not as often here in the states as it was back in Germany.

Many good points brought up in this thread. I have been wondering myself if it isn't time the industry came out with a new connection type for mods and atties to help set at least some safety standard. I think if they came up with a new thread type or post size for tanks such as the new sub-tanks and then had the same connection types on regulated mods we could keep the uneducated safe, well more safe anyway. The idea someone would screw one of these onto a direct connect mod is pretty scary.
Sure. You're absolutely right. A non vaper wouldn't care about subohm by any means. I just said I was warned about using ecigs (not even bc of formaldehydes but the batteries) in general. Not subohm. Sorry if you got me wrong. My point still stands, sure I hear non-vapers spouting off formaldehyde junk, or those are worse than cigarettes regurgitated monologs they hear from the media. But I find it highly unlikely that the non-vaper approaches someone talking about the dangers of battery safety in subohm applications.
I could probably start asking people on the street right now what they thought about that subject and wouldn't get an answer other than "I dunno" for years.
Not a bad idea. But then toppers like the Subtank had to be strictly for sub-ohm. As soon as you use a higher (or safe to vape unregulated) ohm coil, you wouldn't be able to vape that unregulated.
Unless there are unregulated mods that have the same thread. Then again there is the danger that an uninformed vaper uses a subohm coil on that device.
You understand what I mean?

Yeah, sorry, too.Well then I apologize, in a thread talking about subohm applications and the lack of safety precautions to those who partake in it, I hope you can see how I misunderstood. Vape on.![]()
Where do these new, uneducated vapers get the idea that they need to subohm at high power levels to get a good vape?
Yeah, sorry, too.
I didn't make myself that clear. So let's both just keep on taking a deep vape peacefully.![]()
One reason could be Youtube.Where do these new, uneducated vapers get the idea that they need to subohm at high power levels to get a good vape?
One reason could be Youtube.
What I've seen there made my hair vanish really quickly. Before I watched some of those videos I had hair like Jon Bon Jovi. Now I'm bald.
Sure. Some woman sued Yamaha (I think it was Yamaha) because her 21 year old son bought a 1000cc super bike, didn't know how to ride, no helmet, and killed himself before he made it down their street. Don't you know motorcycles like that shouldn't be for sale? That's what mom said anyway.
Cool story.
You can't fix stupid.
You need by law, a motorcycle endorsement on your lisc, and a helmet in most states.
Sorry to hear about a death, but mommy won't win.
A little OT:
What is B&M?
