I've been sitting on this for a while as I was playing with some other toys... just got to cleaning these attys. Since they were both tasting pretty foul (juice sat for barely a week and turned south), I figured the first place to start was cleaning them.
Well after cleaning them, one of them came back to life with a trace of that bad taste still lingering, while the other one still tastes like absolute crap.
I noticed when I first got this set that the wicking material isn't set up the same way other attys have it. It's pressed into the chamber and appears to be sitting on the coil.
Turns out at least two of these now are like this, and the wicking material is actually burning on the coil, which is causing the disgusting taste.
I know this isn't your fault Tony, but you might want to have a talk with your supplier. Faulty charger, two faulty batteries and two malfunctioning attys later, I'm not all that happy with this purchase.
Meanwhile, since I was going to throw the bad atty out, I pulled out all the wick from it, and I'm going to wash it thoroughly again and see if I can get rid of that nasty taste and just use it for dripping.
