It states the battery was not in an e-cig. He had loose change in his pocket along with the battery.
Just think how these news stories could prevent more injuries, by explaining why it happens.
Of course that would defeat the goal of demonizing vaping, and could hamper a lawsuit.

Jeez! Another "lets blame the device" story.
Judging by the looks of the Kanger, The battery wasn't even in it, I would dare to say they weren't even in the same pocket.
Instead of blaming the device, they should blame the guy who carries a battery in his pocket without a sleeve or case.
If they seriously believe they are providing the public with valuable information, perhaps a little blurb about the dangers batteries can pose and not necessarily the device they power.
