Hello! I'm a new member as of today and attempting to quit smoking. I was a pack/pack and a half a day smoker and I'm dedicated to letting that go.

I attempted to quit using Blu cigs but was unable to find any retailers in Ottawa that sold their cartridges with nicotine so resorted to trying to quit nicotine altogether. It didn't work and I was pretty miserable which made my better half miserable as well. Today I did some research and went out and bought a Joyetech eCab kit and a 30mil bottle of 18mg/ml "US Mix Tobacco" since back home I smoked Marlboro reds, which is clearly what the logo for this juice is trying to emulate.

I'm already having some ups and downs, but mostly ups. The downs probably have more to do with me being a new user to tank systems than anything else.

I was considering doing some videos while I quit to have fun and keep me motivated, maybe talking about adjusting to the new eCab, past attempts at quitting or anything else I'm coming across during my beginner vaping journey.

Even while lurking this forum has been a great support and confidence builder for quitting and I hope to be a part of that for somebody else eventually.

I think that if you get to 5 posts and then go post in the Canada forum your juice possibilities might open up more. Being in America I don't know exactly how that works, but I've heard... Things. Lol.

Oooooo! That would be most helpful! We had to go through a coworker network after many unsuccessful attempts at finding... things... so that sounds perfect, thanks a ton for the heads up!

Hopefully you'll continue to have good luck quitting analogs.....I've been tobacco free (smokless tobacco for 13 years and a 2 pack a day smoker for about 10 years prior to that) myself now for 2 months and I'm reaping the benefits. Not necessarily in money spent on tobacco vs vaping because my tobacco habit wasn't all that expensive, but in my case my teeth and mouth are thanking me.

I'm still fairly new to the whole thing and I really don't know anything about vaping and vaping gear than what I am currently using or have used which is a simple ego-t battery and 3 different kinds of tanks....The ubiquitous vision clearomizer was my first and works great for several weeks and is still my go-to backup, I also tried a DCT (don't know the brand) that I wasn't impressed with at all possibly due to the battery, and my current daily vape tank is a Kanger MT3 which gives me the flavor I'm looking for and a longer lasting vape without having to clean/replace my clearomizers....Even with cleaning I go through at least 1 coil for the MT3 every week and a half or so, but even then I get better flavor/vapor than I get with a new vision clearo.

All I can really say about vaping so far is that I haven't had a cig/dip of snuff in 61 days now and I have been almost 100% free from the urge to do so in well over a month because to me I feel like I am smoking when I vape, of course considering that I hadn't smoked prior to that in nearly 15 years.. Absolutely, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to quit smoking. Yes you're not getting off nicotine but you ARE getting off the 4000 or so other harmfull chemicals that are in analog smoke....Formaldehyde, arsenic, and I can't even remember 99% of the rest, those are just the ones that come to mind first. Long story short, Good luck with quitting tobacco! I wish you the best and if you have any questions you know where to come!

Welcome and good luck.

Thanks, I'll take all the luck I can get!

It doesn't seem like a big step in the scheme of things but just being tobacco-free for 24hrs for the first time in years feels pretty empowering, can't imagine how good it must feel hitting the 2 month mark and not craving a cigarette!

You say you don't know much about vaping but you seem to know your stuff! I'm still fumbling my way through the forums, learning new terminology and how to work and get a better vape out of what I just got.

My eCab is my first tank system and I'm loving it! I tried to go completely nicotine free previously with Blu ecigs which just didn't work on any level(VERY high stress atmosphere lately) because of Canadian restrictions on the shipping/importing of ejuices. After that I bought a $40-50 Nicorette inhaler which went almost entirely to waste(Used 3 cartridges and refuse to touch the rest) because inhaling from it bothered my throat immensely. It felt like I was inhaling acrid dust on every drag and I had to follow every single pull with a drink of something to clear the feeling from my throat.

I'm definitely happy to be getting those out of my system and I'm looking forward to slowly feeling a change as my lungs adjust. Thank you so much and I'll keep that in mind!

Congrats! I think once you find a few juices that you absolutely love, along with a few trouble free tanks, you won't miss the analogs at all. Best of luck!

(PS what I said above is because that's what happened to me. Hehehe)

Personally, I think it's harder with the tobacco flavors, because it doesn't quite match your expectation no matter what we try. Try a fruit or a Danish when quitting. You still get the nic, but not the "dissatisfaction" about the miss on the tobacco flavor. You do sound empowered, and you're practically already a non-smoker and full time vaper. A heartfelt welcome to the Forum. We wish you good luck, happy shopping (my favorite part), Power Up and Vape On!

I definitely enjoying the US Mix right now but I'm thinking I'll get greedy and go for a little variety sooner rather than later. I think my options might be INCREDIBLY limited by Canadian importing laws, however. I've found one good local shop with 15 varieties that contain nicotine and that's pretty much it. Hopefully ECF can open my eyes to some new little shops that might not have a web presence.

Hopefully I can find more because I'm enjoying it immensely and already furiously scrolling through pages and pages of fantastic looking vaping gear.

Thank you!

I'm actually noticing this already! I really am loving it but already feeling the urge to try other varieties, I think I was going for a spot-on replacement for the flavor and even though it's amazing compared to the Blu's it's still not really spot-on and I suspect it can't be.

I'm feeling pretty empowered right about now. I'm just replaying in my head my attempt at using Nicorette inhalers and the sensation of vaping and it's just night and day. I was fighting the urge to just grab a real smoke before but now I'm not, even with an unfinished pack in a drawer. I think I kept them just in case it turned out like the previous inhaler but now I'm 100% sure I can wet them, throw them and not feel a restless and anxious mess.

Thank you so much and yes! I'm already eyeing things and learning more about what hardware is out there. I can see now this is going to be an evening spent on youtube looking at review videos. :'D
