Ladies and gentlemen, I've done it again...I've accidentally dropped my nicotine!

I've been deliberately trying to reduce it but this jump is insane!

Four months and two days ago, I was using 24mg first thing in a morning and 18mg during the day. A week before Christmas I was using 18mg during the day and 11mg on an evening...before knocking it down to 11mg all day very soon after.

8mg early in January was too low...waaaaaaaaaaaaay too low but I started DIYing

In February, my DIYing started out with 12mg, simply because it seemed easier to go for a round number. I quickly spotted a reduction in my nicotine intake and at the beginning of March I knocked it down to 11mg. On the 15th March, I tried reducing it to 10mg...

Now, at this point, you'd think I was using 10mg wouldn't you? But no... coconut happened. I was curious to try coconut flavour and I'd read on here somewhere (whoever you are, I blame you!) that a nice night time juice should be about 25% of your usual amount. I thought this was going to be too low so I went with 4mg. Now, 4mg on an evening is jussssssssssssst right. I've even started filling my fresh carto for today with 8mg juice! Yet I'm sat here, its just after 8am and I'm sat here happily with my 4mg!!!! What's going on?!

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled! If I can stick with 8mg today, and my 4mg tonight, I'll be a very happy lady. I just can't believe it could be this easy for me. For others I've no doubt it's more difficult but this is great!x

I found that once I got to 3 mg all day, it really didn't matter to me if it was 6 mg or zero. I have though been reducing nic levels slowly since April last year. I have the feeling that I lost the addiction to cigarettes in a few months. IMO, a lot of the addiction to cigs is due to the 'rush' and maybe part of that is also happening because of the mix of chemicals in cigarettes. I think something needs a 'rush' or 'high' that hits fairly quickly to be addicting. I suspect the nicotine aspect is quite a small part of it. I'm sure the cigarette companies know exactly what's really going on, but we'll never get the real story from them

This has been my experience of course. You seem to be reacting similarly. Enjoy the freedom to nic or not to nic :toast:

When I'm not stressed, I can vape anywhere from 0-6 mg juice... during times of lots of stress, I have to up it to 11 or 12. Then I loose the stress and I step it back down again.

Same here. A day or so a week I need to vape a little higher for a bit, then can drop back down to my 6. Am currently vaping 12 for 'lunch'.

vaping no nic would be like drinking decaf coffee.....what's the point? :p

I got off caffeine years ago and feel better for it. Still drink a pot of decaff every day because I love the flavor of coffee. Same for no-nic vaping, it's all about the flavor and vapor in this case. But again, this works for me, but different strokes ...

Awesome! I've been vaping 4 to 6 mg for awhile and I was really surprised at how easy it was. I still enjoy 11 or 12 occasionally but it's rare and usually just the samples I get.

Incidently, my coffee intake has dropped to almost zero. I used to drink it all day and now it's rare I even finish my first cup. Sleeping a lot better!

I have been convinced for quite some time now that the addiction to nicotine varies drastically from person to person.

I have seen people go from 18mg to zero overnight and not even miss it.
And I have seen other people struggle with dropping their nicotine levels slowly over time.

And I have seen everything in between.

I'm pretty sure this is fact - my roommate smoked for a few years, then gave it up cold turkey without batting a lash. Not a single nic-fit. Me, I tend to get shaky and incredibly cranky after the first 12 hours or so. That's why I turned to vaping, though I probably shouldn't have started at 12mg. Too low! I haven't quite kicked the analog habit yet, though I'm down to only one or two a day. Progress!
