I've been reading up on the safety issues with e juice and the consistent theme I've found is that vaping is almost certainly less harmful than analogs. That said, I consistently see people who step down in nic levels and increase the amount of juice they go through per day. I've also seen that the questions about health effects have little to do with the nic and much to do with the effects of inhaling pg and vg and flavorings/additives. My question is why step down the nic level and increase the risk with vaping more? Wouldn't it make sense to vape at the highest tolerable level and vape less?

I can vape 36mg the same way I used to smoke cigarettes, which was really fast. As soon as I started finding flavors that I enjoyed I realized that I couldnt fully savor the flavors and vape for more than a few minutes without feeling sick. So thats when I started cutting down nic levels. It was a little adjustment as I had to sacrifice the throat hit that I was so used to, but I got to enjoy some great flavors in the trade off. I figure that to stay off analogues, instead of chasing the dragon and trying to always emulate my cigarette smoking experience, I should encourage myself to adjust to the differences of vaping.

I step down during the day. I start out the morning with 36. I take 24 with me and when I get home at night I use 12. I'm also still smoking 3 to 6 cigs a day depending on my stress level. within the next few weeks I'm hoping to drop it down to 24, 12 then to 12 full time. But my ultimate goal is to be on 0 nic until I can pass my gear on to another smoker that want's to quit.

If you believe that there might be some adverse health affects, then that would make sense.

However, a lot of people drop down in nicotine strength, and vape more at first but eventually taper off.
And then they rinse and repeat.

It is just one of many ways that work for some people to step down.

Thanks for the feedback! I have absolutely loved vaping, to the point that an analog tastes disgusting. I just have to remember to but down the pv every now and then...
You might want to consider dripping as a way to make sure you only vape when you really want to.
Having to put a few more drops in if you want to keep vaping is a good way to make sure that you really want to.
