are there any juicy rumors concerning the deeming regs'?
when they might be released or what might be in them?
the lack of unofficial leaks has me concerned as its usually
a tool they use to see which way the wind is blowing.
the silence has me thinking it means good things for us or,
inversely a vaper Apocalypse. with not much in the middle.
regards
mike

I would like to know the same. The FDA has been quiet. Perhaps it's always that way with their work. But may be the FDA knows they have a tiger by the tail. The problem is not the science, it's the politics.

I'm vague on their legal framework. Are they going to regulate recreational vaping or only vaping products that include a health claim?

The FDA have to be experts at sorting out valid from invalid science. The science available so far is that reducing cigarattes by vaping is a health benefit. As far as I can fiind there is no evidence of bad consequences from the completely unregulated situation we have now. The best the anti crowd can do is say is they are worried about kids vaping but they show know interest in detailed research to define their concerns. May be it's a good thing that kids are vaping. A standard propaganda tactic is to raise an issue then decline to discuss it.

My guess for Mike and ALL:

The FDA aka "Killers" have a few things in the works to enhance the deeming and these will be completed first:

- Two More workshops
- They spent a few million for "studies" etc done by others and these will be released

Their is no upside to motivate the FDA to "leak" They clearly have the wind at their back and they understand this. The FDAs position is enhanced with states like the CA recent proclamation /cough and numerous other sin taxes and ban proposals at the State and local level. All of these enhance the FDA's position with respect to the deeming.

I expect to see the final rule the last quarter of 2015 and it will be as they say "foundational" in nature with no details on flavors and or component parts. The final will be essentially the same as the version we commented on. If the FDA is successful and the final is the law of the land under the TCA etc , then I expect to see "discression" play a nasty role along with attempting to restrict flavors and component parts in subsequent years. I'm not an attorney but the attorneys for SFATA appear to be ready to launch a legal attack at the appropriate time (post final law of the land)

So.. I personally don't make any assumptions or signals about the current "silence" from the FDA.

/end guess
