As for the side effects? My throat and lips are definitely dry. I have gone with 100% VG or very high VG products because I can't figure out why someone would want a 'throat hit'.
Yeah, I don't get the "throat hit" either and I even smoked for two years. But I do like tobacco flavors. I started with e-cigs because after 5+ years of quitting I still missed smoking. I've always had a love hate relationship with the habit. I missed going for smoke breaks and looking forward to a smoke after breakfast.
I use 0mg mostly VG juice. I tried 6mg (diluted down to 3mg) but the nicotine just makes my face hurt or gives me a headache. So, I stick to the nic. free stuff.
It's amazing how many people these types of products have helped. My favorite uncle recently died of lung cancer at only 54, his 93-year-old mother had to burry him. No one should ever have to burry their own child. I wish these had been around for him, he would have loved them! He always liked gadgets and things he could "mod" (like his motorcycle.) He would have been all over this forum with the craziest and best mods ever. Well nothing can bring him back but maybe some other smokers will get out before too much damage is done with the help of this product.
I (and some friends) have already purchased a set for a college at work who smokes. A few of us did it anonymously (but he knows it's us I bet) We got him the same 510T system I use since I know it's a good balance of performance and analog feel. This all started when we were out for a friday crawl and I (I'm known as a non-smoker) started smoking my 510T.
"Is it good?"
"yeah"
"How would you know you don't smoke"
"I used to smoke a long time ago"
"So is it good?"
"Oh Yeah. It's not just good it's
better."
So we decided to get one for our co-worker who we all know smokes too much (my friends are social smokers).
I was gobsmaked with delight when I bumped in to him today on the roof (favorite smoking spot, gorgeous view of the NYC skyline) holding his e-cigarette. He looked at me in shock and said "You smoke???"
"I do now."
Anyway, I'm from Cleveland too! Shaker Heights, though I live in NYC now for 10 years.
