An interesting thought/question popped into my head the other night...

When I look back to when I was heavy smoker, I used to maintain this kind of mentality where, "I'm a smoker now, but eventually, while with no immediate plans to quit, will have to inevitably quit whether it's due to health reasons or new family obligations."

Me and my long-time girlfriend have plans to get married, have kids, all that jazz... And I never would tolerate myself stinking up my house, my car, with/around kids. Heck, I used to already feel a cringe of guilt every time I am in a public place and a family with kids happen to walk past...

But anyways, I suppose that's all past me now, since I was able to pretty much instantly quit the smokes and I now vape exclusively instead.

My question is, do any of you have any future plans to quit vaping too, whether definite or just a "maybe some time later in the future" kinda plan? I know there's a whole range of ages of people who vape, but for some reason I can't wrap my head around the prospect of vaping for the long haul, or starting a family and have kids and still retain vaping as a hobby. "Wait kids, before we go to the park, dad's gotta fill up his clearo..." :p I just dont see it...

Anyways, what's everyone else's thoughts? Anyone here have plans to quit vaping? Any firm decisions one way or the other?

Curious to hear everyone else's thoughts

I don't think there's any reason why you would want to stop vaping. Since its become a hobby for me......I wouldn't think to give up a hobby. It brings me happiness. Give me joy to research new ways to vape, building coils, finding a new juice. Why would I wanna take that away from me? I think it will certainly be toned down when I find the "perfect thing" but until then ill be going strong. :) just my two cents.

when i started vaping it was meant to be an alternative to smoking. it worked and worked well. as the months go on i am finding i don't have the cravings to vape like I did with cigs, but I still enjoy it. I don't have the intention of quitting it anytime soon. but if the government sinks their teeth into it like they did the tobacco industry and it starts to be 100 bucks for a 30 ml bottle. i would and it would be much easier to quit then cigarettes.

I have no desire to quit vaping. I quit smoking analogs 16 different times in my life. Had a 4 1/2 year and a 2 1/2 year stretch, but mostly I'd quit for a week or 2 or a couple months and I ALWAYS ended up picking it back up. Discovering vaping is the most amazing thing ever to me. I have absolutely no desire to pick up a Marlboro. I know if I ever stopped, I'd eventually smoke again and I do not want that! I've just accepted that about myself... I need the oral fixation thing. And I agree with kamm about it being a hobby. It's become that for me and I really enjoy it. :)

I am old and I plan to never quit vaping.
I never planned to quit smoking either, I just wanted to cut back because of the $$. I never felt bad or ashamed or guilty for smoking either.
and I don't care what the government does, I'll vape no matter what they do

oh and if I ever get a fatal dx from a dr. I'll probably smoke again
hmmmm, I may have a bad attitude :)

I'm planning to quit vaping shortly before my ashes are put in an urn. Maybe not even then, but that's the soonest I've envisioned so far.

You may want to consider having your body vaporized. Much more "green" friendly since it releases far fewer carcinogens into the environment.

:)

Oh, yeah I hope to quit vaping someday. No immediate plans though but I do think it will be easier than cigarettes.

Yes, I absolutely intend to quit vaping. For me vaping is a hobby and an addiction as well.... so when I am ready I will quit. I don't like being addicted to anything. If the gov't sinks their teeth in and this becomes an even more expensive hobby that's another reason I would quit. I will not pay a hundred bucks for 30 mil of juice (as another post put it) or spend $150 on an ego twist so I am taking a wait and see attitude.

With that said I stash juice like a squirrel stashes nuts....and just bought a ProVari mini so... it will be a while. :)

Do I plan on quitting? No.

Do I want to quit? Perhaps.

The bottom line is:

Having stayed quit from a 30 year smoking habit for two+ years, if vaping keeps me from returning to smoking that's all that matters. My Doctors have a big problem with smoking. Vaping? Not one has expressed any concern about it.

I know some people get hung up on the "addiction to nicotine = me bad" thing. Look: I was already addicted to smoking before I tripped over vaping. Eliminating the smoking, even if I have to maintain the nicotine habit to stay that way, is a far lesser evil.

If quitting vaping means a relapse into smoking... you should keep vaping instead.
