For me, the hardest part is the rituals. I've been caffeine free for 4 years now, so that morning smoke was my cup of coffee also. Now I just suck on some 24mg juice to start the day off. My other ritual is the drive to and from work. There are spots on the road that just call to fire up a cigarette. vaping through those spots has kept me going. It's only been 9 days for me, but the ritual part is getting easier now.

don't even think about the word Quit, or quitting. as we all know, way to much pressure, and you are setting yourself up for total failure. get used to vaping first. if you crave an analog?, have at it, and don't feel bad. start cataloging your triggers. find your right dosage of nicotine. for god's sake don't buy too much tobacco flavor. with any luck you will be anxious to start looking for new flavors other than the father killers. closest you will get to the taste of burning tobacco, is the taste of unburnt tobacco. it seems to be one of the biggest complaints on here. hydrate, drink water like there is no tommorow, or risk dehydration, effects of which can be unpleasant, unhealthy, and you will get discouraged and fall on your face. after a reasonable amount of time, set your quit date. i did not say the word quit. please replace with the word chocolate. for me i started not bringing the father killers to work, and did both at home. vaping and hydrating all the way. , and so on and so forth, read these forums, spread the word, learn about the effects of tobacco, learn about tobacco harm reduction. we all have to be ready for the class action lawsuits. move on to your chocolate day, and keep us informed about your journey. and definitely get a banner for your signature. nothing gives a better erection, than waking up in the morning and checking my score. welcome and good luck.

My advise is too just stop. Break the routines. Get up grab your e cig and make your coffee. Use it while the coffee is brewing. When I stopped I just stopped. Your body will detox from all the chemicals in analogs but you will still have the nicotine. The hardest part is to just stop. Juice made analogs taste bad so that helped me. I also didn't use tobacco flavored juice either. I went with sweet or fruit flavors. Something that didn't taste like an analog. Its all mental thing. Good luck. Happy vaping

I agree with jfalbanese. Definitely find out what your biggest trigger are for the tough cravings and be ready for them. I waited until I had a good opportunity to quit. Was going to be in airports and hotels for 5 days around all non-smokers, so I threw my ciggs away at the airport and had the eGO in my carry-on. This was 5 days ago but I haven't had an analog and the rest is history!

Update: 4 days analog free! I had a pack of Marlboro's and I bought a couple NJoy Kings from 7-11 and stuck it in the pack. When I had my morning coffee, i would smoke 1 analog, and instead of smoking another analog after that, i reached for the NJoy King instead (I usually smoked 2 or 3 analogs with a big mug of coffee) and vaped until my coffee was done. I did this for the after dinner smoke also. 4 days ago the pack ran out, but I still keep the Marlboro box with 2 NJoy Kings in there. So I reach for the pack of Marlboros and vape the NJoys in the morning with my coffee. I have been using higher nic content juice and it satisfies my cravings during the day!

Yeah I had to be in the mindset myself to do it, also getting better Vaping gear helped a ton, The Clearo's with the Volt X2, just made vaping so much better. The Normal cig style ones with the fluff carto's dried out my mouth and just tasted weird to me. Second is finding a juice you really enjoy, what everyone here calls an All Day Vape. I found mine when I got my Piper Dream from Purevapes.com. Love this stuff its way better than a cigarette.

I was a pack a day for 20 years and I quit in the 10 minutes it took to check the mail and set up my first device , that was 29 days ago and I have no desire to ever put a an analog in my mouth again. The first two days sucked , but then I found the trick that worked for me. For me it was breaking the smoking habit of when/where and replacing it with a vaping habit of when/where (which happens to be all day and everywhere lol). I didn't treat vaping like an analog, set to times and places and routines , and in the process simply ditched the old routines for new ones.

The key for me was to pick my highest smoking time and up my nic level for that time. In my case, it was in the morning. I would chain smoke 5 or 6 cigarettes (full flavor with a plastic filter) the first hours after waking so I vape 12mgs then. I taper down to 9mgs (by mixing 6mgs with 12mgs in my carto) around noon and 6mgs the rest of the day. Sometimes I do no nic if I'm up late as nic tends to keep me awake.

I agree and this is what I did when I switched over to vaping only. I also keep my PV right next to my bed and as soon as I wake up id take some puffs...a lot of them! Did that for the first week...now my morning routine is different, as in I don't wake and bolt for the garage for a traditional cig. I have no issue with waiting till the coffee brews now before vaping. :). Pretty much my first 2 weeks my PV was glued to my lips but over the following 2 the cycle broke and now I treat it the same (and about as frequent usage) as when i smoked.

good luck!

I'm new to this as well, and I've found the most important thing for me is good juice. If you're vaping something that isn't giving you good flavor, throat hit, and the nic level you need, you'll fall right back on analogs.

The other thing was switching from clearos to carto tanks and the Vivi Nova Mini. Clearos (for me anyway) leak, produce poor vapor, flavor, and throat hit, and are a pain in the rear because the second you lay them on their side, they get juice down the center post and flood/gurgle so bad you have to take them apart and clean them out before you can use them again. Carto tanks and Vivi Novas can be on their sides or upside down for that matter, without any of those problems. Oh, and they hold more juice, so you're refilling less often.

Hope this helps, and stick with it!

I'm going through about the same thing. :( The first one of the day is the worst. After I eat is hard. Before bed. When I'm really stressed. And random times at work (I'm a bar manager/maid in NE, get to listen to a lot of people with no life and narrow minds run their mouth with nice ranky cow crap on their boots) because I'm just so used to going out for some fresh air and quiet. The only thing that has helped me so far is to focus my attention on something else and grab my PV and vaping. But I've gone from about 30 analogs a day to 5-10 depending on the day. I've been at this for a little over a week now. And I think as time goes on and the more I get used to vaping the urges will slowly fade out. It certainly seems like the longer I'm vaping, the nastier an analog tastes and I put them out early. Good luck!

I agree about it being totally mental. I had to tell myself over and over that I was getting the nicotine I "needed" everything else was just a self-control issue and to get over it. I know that sounds odd because obviously I didn't have enough self control to completely quit nicotine all together but I did sort of feel like a wimp complaining and struggling when I really was getting what I needed. I had to watch my husband smoke in front of me for a couple days while I vaped just to get my mind wrapped around the fact that it wasn't for me anymore. I think too what pushed me over the edge finally was the smell. Why smoke something smelling so disgusting when you can vape apples... or whatever.
