Anybody get it right the first time?

Has anybody else here bought a starting setup and been happy with that?

Because I honestly think I could be happy with a few basic ego batteries and some basic clearos... I mean, I think I could be happy with what I got (a cheap blister pack eGo 1300 starter kit, a back-up, and some standard cheap atomisers.) I did succumb to buying a Kanger Square 1 because it was pretty... but now that I figured out why the atomisers were leaking (user error), I don't know if I need ever upgrade. I even like all the juices I've tried.

I'm not sure I see the need to even try to understand the point of variable this and resistance that.

Anybody else the same? Or do such people not post on the forums because it's not a hobby for them?

(heck I rock a Vamo V3 [I thoroughly enjoy it]...but I really want to go "retro" get a BOLT from fasttech, a kick clone, some 18500 batteries and have a APV in a mechanical body...but I think my wife has put the kabosh on me spending for a while)

I thought that as well originally. Started with Blu, went to GreenSmoke, then an EVOD kit. Now sporting an Innokin vv3 (gave to the wife), MVP2, K100 mod, waiting for a Vamo V3, and just ordered a VTR. Fastetech and ECF are killing my ability to say I saved any $$ by quitting, but I feel and smell a heck of a lot better!

Hi Katy,
Good to see a member from home. I wish I was as lucky as you. Love at first sight. Unfortunately, i spent almost $1K USD trying to get my favourite device. I wasnt wise enough to come here to research 2.5 years ago and lots of my hard earned money went down the toilet spending it on e-lites which never helped me quit. Now im happy with my innokin MVP with a Protank 2 topper.

It's also with my personality too. Im not easily impressed and also being a picky cook as a side job, i am very particular of my juices. I always want more! As time passed, i found myself wanting variable voltage, a better tank system to handle all my juices to get that optimal performance, taste and satisfaction.

I was pretty lucky, only modified my heads a little, but pretty much stuck to the same ego-carto setup I started with.

There are plenty people like this, it's just not thread worthy, so we're not that visible as the constant upgrade/hobbie people.

The grass is green on my side...

I suspected as much!

I think I'll enjoy the juices. But money was a HUGE factor in why I started this. We're pretty skint just now and if I buy any more gear, m husband will kill me!

He'd probably prefer I picked one flavour and bought it buy the liter to save more money. LOL

I started out with a knockoff eGo kit and now use the MVP 1.0 with a few different clearos.

I'm pretty satisfied and could stick with this setup for a while, I just like lurking on the forum.

I might eventually get into mods/RBAs, but I know someone who just bought a few eGo Twists + eVods and she has no plans to go to anything more advanced - it just works.

I guess I fall under this category in a round-about way. My first vaping purchase was a cig-a-like starter kit. I don't use those products anymore but I do use cig-a-likes from a different vendor more than I use my Spinner/Evod/Protank set ups. I've used some type of cig-a-like every single day since day one. I cannot say the same for my other vaping hardware.

Started with NJOY Kings and loved them, only issue was they were a $20 a day habit. Next was epuffer nanos, horrible vape. draw was tight and whispy. good thing epuffer has an excellent return policy for full refund. went to a itaste 3.0 vv/vw and loved it with a carto/tank system. currently using that at home and switching between carto/tank and protank. for my out and about and work/travel vape im using a eroll and loving that as well. the eroll has accompanied me to china for two weeks and was able to let me turn down all cigarette offers, and if you've never worked in china before that like passing up at least 50 analogs a day.

but ultimately this is now a hobby and not just a stop smoking aide so even though i am satisfied, i have a very strong urge to go order a reo grand or mini 2.1 with a rba just to see what all the fuss about mechanical/drip vaping is all about

Hell no, before I found the correct system I spent about 300 to 400 dollars. I started with Blus, then went to V2, then njoy and a couple of others. The I found a local store who set me up the first time.

These forums are here to help people not make the same mistakes we did. I wish I would have came here before I started to vape. I could of had a crap load of juices, pro tanks and batteries.

Still enjoy my vision spinner, hardly use it anymore tho because u have a mech mod and rba that gets all my attention and I'm happy with that. now I figure on advancing my coil knowledge and techniques and after 4 months of vaping I'm still looking to find the perfect juice for my taste.

Hi Katy

"Get it right the first time?" I guess that would be me. I got a 900 mAh eGo kit when I started. My only "extravagance" was I bought another kit to have a backup charger and batteries. That was back in the days when kits came with attys and cartridges - not cartos even. That worked for me, and worked for my first nine months before I started buying stuff I didn't really need.

If it's working for you there is no need to rush into a new anything. There - I said it. Everyone was pushing cartos on me like they were the salvation of vaping. I hated every one I tried - all of 'em - and my carto experiment days practically drove me back to smoking. Two+ years later I still hate 'em. You can experiment with new toys all you want - if that's all you want is a new toy. But if what you are using got you off smoking and is keeping you off smoking... isn't that the point? There's no reason to feel guilty or deficient about not buying stuff. There - I said that too.

I started with a Redds kit... $100 wasted.

then got an EGO twist, and IClear16 clearomizers...
don't like the clearomizers... they leak when you hold them up side down.
went with KangerT3S, like them... so waiting on an order from fasttech for more.

then there are liquids... but what I don't like my wife doesn't mind....

I also started with the Blu, but didn't like the flavor at all. Then switched to a small eGo, and it kind of took off from there. E-liquids got me from the go. Fantastic flavor choices. It's been a few weeks and I'm well hooked on trying out as much as I can so I can decide on a 'solid investment'. It really is a whole new world or underworld depending on how you look at it. So many options it's scary.
I'm loving vaping and this forum has been a wonderful tool for info and reviews.
