I've realized that as long as you have a quality atomizer/coil setup then pretty much anything can work. My first setup was a 650 mah blister pack with a ....ty CE4 clearomizer. It just didn't produce enough vapor. I upgraded to an evod and got an 1100mah vv ego-v which was much better and I liked the bottom coil style but still not exactly where I wanted to be. Enter the protank. Now I can get awesome vapes from any battery. Finding the "right setup" for me was really about finding a quality atomizer and then doing the research; and learning how to rebuild it. Now I'm using it with a sigelei 24 mech mod with rebuilt cotton wick micro-coils. The best part is there is still yet another level of vaping to attain when I decide to move up to genesis style RBAs or dripper RDAs.

I have stayed very close to my original setup. I upgraded to Kanger evod batt rather than the cheap one simply because it has a longer battery life; and I did upgrade from CE4s to Kanger evod tanks because they are easy to fill, clean, and the replacement coils are cheap.

I am content with this, as I have no interest in complicating things further. My vaping motto is definitely K.I.S.S. :)

My current setup keeps me off the stinkies and that's the most important thing to me for now.

I started out much the same, but after a while i was pulled to the dark, expensive side of APVs. so, now I'm addicted to not nicotine, but the hobby of rebuilding atomizers and trying new mods/tanks. But the well-spoken rule of vaping always applies, if you're happy with it and it keeps you from conventional tobacco products, its perfect for you.

I started with cigalikes then moved up to eGo's the first week and an eGo Twist a month or so later. I used eGo's (the regular ones AND the Twist) for almost a year.

Liking the variable voltage of the Twist and curious about variable wattage, I bought a zMax, and I'm hooked. I really don't see myself switching to anything else, but FWIW, if I wasn't such a curious gadget-girl, I'd have been perfectly fine sticking with the eGo's:)

I don't think it's unusual at all, and I occasionally see posts in the forums from people who have stuck with cigalikes for their whole time. Whatever makes you happy, right?

I started a long time ago on cig-a-likes No idea what the brand/type but between short battery life and leaking ect. I went back to analogs.

skip ahead a few months and a friend swears by his DSE type... so I bite drop some $$$. Still didn't like the short battery life the leaking carts or that they are pre-filled. Back to analog...

Fast forward... Same friend saying how great the E-Go C is.... ok I will bite ONE last time... this is the Ego C with the tank system and 1000mah batteries. Get it in the mail, have a pack of analogs that I just bought (shows my faith huh?) and start using it with the menthol juice I grabbed... and WOW this feels so much better then the cig-a-like... and minimal leaks, no pre filled cart... I keep going. 1 week later and no analog since. That was Feb 22 2013(give or take a day).

Since then I have gone from tanks to clear's and gotta say I prefer them, still doing the Menthol started at 24mg down to the 6.
Now I have a SMOKTech SID with a ViVi Nova that should be in the mail when I get home :D (more a want then need though the E-Go is working great!)

In short, no I got it all wrong the first couple of times. But smoke free since Feb is amazing and that's all that matters right?

I most definitely didn't get it right the first time... Started with an EGO and disposable clearo's. Very unsatisfactory performance, IMO. A couple weeks of that I jumped all the way in and order my eVic and ProTank II. The next day I ordered another tube, battery, and an Easy Head to replace the wife's EGO. I meant to order her a ProTank II like mine, but accidentally order the first version mini ProTank II, which just didn't look right, lol. Screwed up trying to actually order another and ended up with an original ProTank, which she is very happy with. Of course I couldn't let the mini PTII just sit around, so I ordered an iTaste VV V3.0 and use the combo as my out-and-about setup. I go back and forth as to whether or not I actually like it better than the eVic, haha!

Blu to Egos. The ego was good,as I did not know of anything better. Then I read on here about the Vamo,so I had to have one, well that lasted 60 days. I knew it was petering out. I had thread issues, then when I would press the button it would not fire, then it would just go totally blank. When the Vamo worked,I loved the power and vape. I needed better. The PROVARI!! I have only had her a few days, but this is where I should have been, since day one. I think of all the money I wasted on the Blu kit,the countless Egos, the Vamo. I could own 3-4 Provaris. Vape, learn, then end up with a Provari.
