Last week I picked up an Ovale ego C twist, a mini protank2, a TS3 and some pretty yummy Jamaican Rum juice for about $45 total. For me this setup is working quite well. Havent touched a smoke since last Friday! If I try any new gear, Ill most likely try one of the Halo VV batts, and a tank or two.

Ive picked up a couple bottles of juice from a local shop, and will be sticking with them. Gonna get some lower nic this weekend...maybe some ry5(very strong, very mellow, very tastey) and possibly another bottle. Depends what taste good!

I definitley will be sticking with the Kanger clearos for now, unless I run into any major issues.

Im to new to this "hobby" to dump a ton of cash into it. Thats what the rc cars are for lol!!!

Started with cig-a-likes, moved on to ego, then ego twists, then provari mini and vamo v3, assorted tanks, clearos, and a pile of e-juices sitting on my desk. But through it all, I'm good, money spent, I haven't had an analog in over 2 months, happy with what I have,...even if I keep looking at shiny new things,..*cough* Innokin VTR *cough* :p

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
My problem is the first thing I bought was a rainbow anodized Vision Spinner 1300mAh. It's SO pretty that I went around finding stuff to make the whole thing look work together and look HOT. Found a drip tip that MATCHED THE BATTERY....ZOMG!! Also, immediately looked up pyrex tanks so I could vape this absolutely amazing HC Hot Cinnamon from Vermillion River, who sent the juice ASAP and no issues. Even a friendly note in the package...lol

Now, I'm doomed. DOOMED, I tell you!

And all because the battery was pretty.

*sigh*

I got caught by a sponsored review when I bought my cig-a-like, Green Smoke. Not a bad kit, but proprietary.

I doubled-down on my research and got a Halo Triton. Been using it for two months, and am as happy as can be.

So far, this quote mirrors my experience, almost to the letter. :)

Started when my wife ordered me three Green Smoke disposables on a whim. They were ok, but then I did some reading here and elsewhere, and put in an order for a Triton and a bunch of max-strength Halo juice. When the package arrived, my 20-year, 2+ pack-a-day smoking habit immediately shrank to only one cigarette in the morning. By the second week, I was smoking zero cigarettes per day.

I can't even express how amazed and happy I am at the transition. I never thought I'd be able to quit smoking, and although I'm certainly not out of the woods yet, my progress so far feels effortless, and thus miraculous.

As time passes, I'll probably collect more gadgets and so on, but for the moment I'm content. The important job's done; the equipment I already have has proven capable of replacing cigarettes. Any effort to branch out would be purely for fun, to gild the lily as it were. :)

I bought a Blu disposable on a whim. Researched found ECF. Asked lots of questions and bought 2 1300mah spinners and Evods and a 510 dripping atty. Still using them and not smoking 10 weeks later. I window shop. I am buying an MVP2 vv/vw for the battery life and that will be it for quite a while. Found juice I love. I am set. If I could afford a Provari I would get one. Maybe at my one year anniversary.

I feel that the companies that sell their "pen-style or cigalike" kits & pre-filled cartos only prey on beginners not knowing any better. Once you move toward more powerful batteries and/or mods, buy your own juice and whatever atty suits you, it starts to make sense. Even more important, you gain confidence in getting away from cigarettes.
For most hardcore cigarette smokers, the cigalikes are not going to do the trick.

I don't think that's all of it. Newbies are often drawn to the thing that resembles what they know. My next door neighbour raved about his eGo set up as he gave me his cast off cigalike. He even let me try it. I just thought it was weird. I was addicted to cigarettes, not bubblegum flavour steam.

I started with a white cloud starter set.. bought some magic mist batteries cause they were cheaper.. switched to a v2 starter kit to try the menthol flavor heard it was good.. then switched to zig zag kit.. then to an ego c with a cheap clearomizer.. problem with that is at times I get a burned taste.. overall I liked the zig zag menthol flavor the best but they only make them in a cartridge.. no liquid.. tried all the liquids that v2 offers like the menthol the next best and best for a liquid.. still wish I could get the zig zag in a liquid form.. anyway just ordered my first mod got a reo mini 2.1 coming.. hopeing that fixes my often burnt taste I get out of the ego and clearomizer.

The Blu Starter Kit was my intro to vaping this past July 29th...the same day I quit analogs!!:D
Within 2 weeks I'd moved to 2 eGo-C Twists, 2 Kanger T3's and 2 Protank 2's....
Big mods don't appeal to me --- over the years I've found myself getting immersed in "hobbies" that end up becoming "jobs"; I end up working/playing/calibrating/lubricating/tweaking....more than just ENJOYING what I'm doing!!
So....for me, my eGo's and tanks suit me....and with reasonable care, should provide me with more than ample vaping pleasure!!;)
Happy (vaping) Trails!

I started with an ego batt and a Ce4. I'm still using the same batteries but have since switched to evods, after my one and only Ce4 bit the dust. I chose evods because they are simple to rebuild the coils, and very inexpensive to do so. The whole system is relatively fuss-free, being as basic as it is. I'm happy with this system now, because I'm comfortable with it, and I just have e-juice costs (which I buy from MBV, at great prices), and the occasional new battery. I think I will eventually move on, when I'm seeing that it's not enough, but I'm content right now :)

I didn't get it "right" the first time. Leaking and gurgling and frustration is what I found for my 510-t set up. Then, I learned (through this site) that sometimes, juices taste better at different voltage settings. Once I was able to control how hard or soft my hits were through variable voltage, on top of the fact that some juices taste better, I won't do anything I can't adjust to suit my tastes.
But that's just me...
