Anybody still using carto tanks!?

I use to use tanks, then got into trying different clearomizers, well after messing with bad coils and leaking and costing a small fortune on them, I decided I had enough of clearo's, now back using carto tanks, they are pretty much hassle free, fill, prime and vape, and one problem I had with clearo's, was they couldn't keep up with my chain vaping, but carto tank have no problems with chain vaping.

I do have RBA's as well, normally at home I use my RBA's, and tanks are my at work choice.

Partially because of Vapeaggedon, but mainly for the flavor, I'm replacing my cartos with ByLeo.eu Sophia RBAs in my IBTanked carto tanks. Used with the flow control closed and tankless, they're as close to my bridge-free Empire Mods 510 attys as I've found. Used in a carto tank, they blow cartos away.

I keep being tempted to buy RBAs of every sort. I love the idea of it. But, I will not allow myself to buy anymore until I get halfway decent at building coils. I don't have to be good at it. Just good enough to know I'm not throwing my money away on something I'll never use.

And, yes. The Sophia and the Diver have been calling to me. Along with the Kayfun Lite and the KSD Novice hybrid, and others.

So many shiny things and so little time and money! But, in the meantime, carto-tanks just plain work.

If you can wrap one of those thin wires out of a bread or produce bag tie around a 1/16" drill bit, you can wrap a micro coil. Just get you some 30 gauge Kanthal, torch it with a cigarette lighter, and wrap.

So Its only been 2 days on my new boge carto and its a burn hit now :/ was I suppose to keep the top wet sometimes, instead of just letting it look dry on top all the time ?does it matter how I punch my carto ?what would the reason be ?

I've never had to reprime a carto once I started using it, although towards the end of their life I have to get a couple primer puffs in if I leave it on it's side, or the tank runs out, or first thing in the morning.

As for punching, you just add more holes at the same height as the existing ones.

It's probably just bad. I had 3 Boges go bad. The good thing is you're only out a couple bucks.

I'm now 12 days into my very first carto and tank and have done absolutely nothing other than add juice. All the flavor, vapor etc is still the same as the very first pull on it and as of this morning I have put 100ml into the tank. Best $1.50 Baditude ever talked me into spending. I wish I knew the manufacturer of these carto's but they are a local B&M branded item and the people working there either don't know or are not allowed to tell who manufacturers them. I'm guessing Smok because most everything in the store is re-branded Smok but whatever the case, it's a perfect vape, zero fiddling, dual punched carto.

Wow. Folks sure get emotional about heating juice to make vapor.

I use a bit of everything. It depends on the situation and my mood. If I have new juice samples, FOR ME nothing beats my IGO-L or W with a quick coil and some cotton. Cotton changes out in about 20 seconds and I'm on to another flavor. I really like using the RDAs at home. I'm not in a race, just leisurely vaping, a few drips at a time. I don't find it annoying, but relaxing. I don't mind "fiddling". It's all part of the "hobby" for me.

On the go I generally use clearos for convenience. For my commute (car) and work I use standard ego batteries with clearos. If I'm out after work I might carry a mod with a tank.

I do have a couple IBTanked tanks, and a couple of Smok DCT tanks, but generally also use those at home. No particular reason - they work well and vape well. I may use one in the scenario above with one of my mods, it just depends on what I feel like using.

They're most likely Smok. There are really only two major players in the carto field, and that is Boge and Smok. Ikenvape has cartos, too, but I have no idea who they contracted in China to make their cartos. I'm assuming Bad will know, though.

The biggest difference I've noticed between Smok and Boge cartos is how tightly-wrapped the polyfill is. Boges, in my experience, have a more tightly-wrapped polyfill than Smok's. Priming a Smok with Boba's takes patience... Priming a Boge with Boba's can be infuriating.

IBT's tanks are great, but I've gotten really fed up with cartos lately. I've been playing with an RBA (a Squape) and an Aerotank for much of the last week, so the carto-tanks got relegated to backup. Except for the first coil getting crudded up after 5 days, the Aerotank has been flawless, and having control over the airflow rocks! Of course, learning to build an RBA has been a challenge, so at only point I grabbed the carto tank that I had previously primed, filled, tested, and then stuck in its Thingie. Well, it was majorly flooded and I could not clear it to save my life. OK, so grab another carto, prime it, and swap it in. Major burnt carto-filler taste. I love my carto tanks, but I hate my cartos! Now that I'm getting reasonably confident about building coils, I think I'm going to order up a Sophia or two and just give up on cartos. With its juice control, I'm pretty confident I'll be able to set it aside filled an not have it be hopelessly flooded when I want to use it.

Is anybody still using carto tanks or does it seem like everybody is now moving on to rba? Is rba the future and cartomizers will have no home and be less attractive ?!

I've noticed that I get burnt taste/dry hits from Boges if I don't let them sit around for a while before vaping. No matter how much I prime them, it doesn't seem like the juice soaks in enough right after priming. I don't have the same issues with Smok or Ikenvape cartos, though I can only get about 2 days out of any carto using the dark, sweet juice that I usually use. If I put menthol into one, that carto will last me at least a couple of weeks. Doesn't matter if they are slotted, have larger holes or more holes, thicker, sweeter, darker juices are he!! on cartos or coils.

when I try I notice a def drop in flavor and complexity for many but not all flavs

I finally gave away my carto tanks the other day
they just haven't been used in months and not going back

Same for me... since getting an ATA T2 and a Taifun GT clone (HCigar) cartomizers just don't do it for me at all.

Winding my own custom coils and using cotton wicking is a far better vape and flavor versus a carto, at least for me.

As far as I've been aware, Ikenvape has never announced who the manufacturer of their cartomizers is. However it is widely rumored that it is Boge. I've not seen any resemblence to Boges by the way that they perform though. The IKV produce better flavor and last longer than either Smoktech or the limited experience that I've had with Boges. I use IKV when I have them, and Smoktech when I don't. I'm still working on the 50 IKV I got on my last order.

I never like Boges from the start. Like Rocket shared, their filler is much more tightly packed, which makes filling them by dripping from the topside a major PITA.
